I do not know if sleight of hand is involved in the effect or not. The elected card is put back in the deck. The deck is stacked into 4 piles. A second card box with LED lights on it is placed on top of each pile. Once the LED card box is on top of the pile with the selected card, it lights up digitally showing how far the selected card is from the top. Anyone knows the name of the effect?

I don't know about a LED card box, but there used to be an app that does about the exact same as what you described. I can't recall the name of the app but it had a CSI-feel to it. I thought this app was by Eggink but I seem to be wrong since I can't seem to find it again....
