I find it interesting that the subject of ego has come up. I believe that is a common problem both on Facebook and this place, which is always rather a shame. We all need to learn to be a trifle more humble. I am constantly seeing people on Facebook bragging that they are doing zillions of shows, and the busiest magician in their area, like anyone really cares! My guess is they are trying to convince themselves. Also, one of the problems with Facebook is that children's entertainers seem to think that they are experts on all sorts of non related subject like politics! I stay clear of such conversations! Anyhow.....good to be back! JR

I occasionally announce on my facebook page about events or exciting news about my show or career as a children's entertainer. It isn't so much bragging as it has to do with being proud. Nothing wrong with being proud of our accomplishments and sharing with family and friends. It's not as though I'm boasting or bragging. Sometimes it could be construed as such, but usually by those who are either jealous, or envious.
I find those with an ego to be a turn off. Some think that since they have been a performer for so many years that everyone should listen and agree with everything they say. I love listening to advice and suggestions, I wouldn't be where I'm at today without taking good advice and applying it into my shows, or into my life. But at the end of the day, I have to weigh them all out and decide what is best for me.
Keep your dreams alive. Understand to achieve anything requires faith and belief in yourself, vision, hard work, determination, and dedication. Remember all things are possible for those who believe.

A while ago I thought - doing a Show was like eating a good meal( or cake), if anyone complimented - it was 'frosting' - appreciated, but too much frosting makes one FAT (headed) -. my pennys worth L-O-L. Ralph

As the name says, facebook is a book for showing faces, opinions... but as a face, people don't try to remake, don't even try to discuss there, is more place to show why 'you' are right then ask what other people thinks, that's why this forum is so good
