TUC Poker chips vs Suckerpunch
I am a novice coin worker but I really am taken with the color of poker chips. I've looked through the forums but I haven't found anything that really puts these two gaffs head to head (unless I've missed it) I appreciate any thoughts and insights along with pros vs cons of each. Thanks |

I do not know anything about the Poker Chip TUC but I do know that the regular coin TUC's are fairly versatile.
Sucker Punch is a nice "starter set" for working with what would be very expensive gaffs if bought in "coin form". Although the chips are plastic rather than clay, I think they are worth the price for what all you get (gaff-wise) and I use the set for a couple effects all the time. You should also check out "The Ammo" by Gary Jones and Full 52. http://www.penguinmagic.com/p/S19898 They are very well made clay poker chips like you would find in a real casino. there are 10 included chips (3 of which are gaffed). On the dvd, there are 10 effects taught and there are some real workers here. Another source to definitely check out is "Lee Asher's Three Stylin'" http://www.leeasher.com/store/tricks/three_stylin.html It uses three different colored clay chips for a "color 3-fly" routine. It is also the basis / inspiration of one of the effects on "The Ammo" dvd. Gary Jones gives full credit and urges you to study Lee's routine for ideas. I have had 3 Stylin' for a long time and it is great (but that can be said about anything Lee Asher puts out).

Thanks Poof-Daddy.
There is a lot of info on three stylin on the site here. It might be a nice starter option. It looks like one routine , I'm sure there are similar ways to mix it up. TUC poker and Suckerpunch have more tricks that are possible though but that means a slightly higher price. Not a deal breaker though. From what I've read though Suckerpunch has a very good video with it. Is that correct compared to TUC videos? |
