I've just finished some props for my new magic tour. This steampunk card box will represent a sort of time machine that I will use with a sort of Mental Photography Deck. I've made it with recycled materials: vintage watch parts (gears, cogs, stems, and screws), an hard disk drive circuit painted with silver acrylic. The body of the box is made with vynil floor tile. The bottom of the box has a magnet inside so that I can conceal a coin under the box.
The box is closed by a flip-open address & phone book slide selector. Finally I found a label inside an hard disk drive with the numbers 20 52 67 written with a suitable font.I think I'll use them with Richard T. Smith's Numb effect (with some small changes). Click here to view attached image. |

That looks cool! I love any steampunk look. A few years back I designed and built a steampunk card rise unit using a few moving parts and lights, etc. Attached is a link to view in action, it is remote operated.

Both of those look very nice!
Those who don't believe in magic will never find it.
