When performing a seance in a person's home, working with their particular table, room size, window placement, etc, what's the best way to set up your "special effects" without tripping over them during the pre-dark experience? If you are asking everyone to hold hands, including yourself, then that leaves only your feet to do the dirty work. What's practical during these conditions?

One of the best advice that I ever recieved was the use of bulldog clips of various sizes on the far edges of tables, bookcases, etc. I make sure the placement is such that there is NO chance of a participant messing up with the stuff.
Also, check Carlyle's "Medium Grip" on the tape offered at http://www.Deceptionsunlimited.com for a way not to have to use your feet. |

The 'medim's grip' is invaluable for allowing you to 'manipulate' the seance. Travelling to a guest's home and rigging certain events can be tricky. Out of necessity most unusual happenings need to occur on the table that I bring to my seances. I'm sort of a control freak and I prefer to avoid Lady Chance to rear her head. Also, I prefer to avoid having the host act as a confederate by allowing me ample time to string up a room. Now when I perform in my own home...

So how much is too much? One thread effect? Two? Obviously, the fewer opportunities to go wrong, the better.

This is not intended to be a shameless plug of one of my products, but I would strongly suggest that you get a copy of [i]Sheherazade[/l]. There is a whole section that concerns special effects. Some of these are very easy to do, and require minimal setup.
Also, if you can get an hour or so alone in the room where the manifestations are to take place, then you can do the things you need to do without being interrupted. Finding a reason for this may be difficult at first, but it can be anything from "needing to exorcise the room of evil spirits" to "hey lady, you don't really believe in this stuff, do you?" I prefer the former. I have a couple of ideas that I will PM you.
