The Fitzkee Trilogy. They killed trees to make these books. That should be against the law.

Every would-be Amagician should be REQUIRED to read the Fitzkee Trilogy. No tricks, just Magic.

I have not read them. DOes that make me a bad magician?

Are you telling me that I wasted 8 years of my life practicing and learning????
To believe is Magic.

Gosh, folks . . . it's just a bit of fun. OF COURSE this list tells more about the reader than the book! It's just another way of expressing who we are and our humble opinions.

So, in this spirit, here are my over-rated books . . . here comes heresy . . .

Tarbell!

Too much stuff packed in there with too many old-fashioned presentations.

Does this mean I will go to hell? Smile

You still have time Smile
Just kidding.
No it doesn't, I don't have any idea how "good"or "bad" a magician you are, but reading the trilogy would certainly make you a more knowledgeable one. That's true whether you end up agreeing with Fitzkee's theories or not.

There are books that I have read that disappointed me, but not one, that was a waste of time. Books are like "The Acres of Diamonds" story. One first need to know what a diamond looks like before its polished.
Our friends don't have to agree with me about everything and some that I hold very dear don't have to agree about anything, except where we are going to meet them for dinner.

I didn't see what the fuss was about when I first read The Paper Engine, though after seeing Fisher perform some of the stuff inside, I went back to read it and it's now one of my favorite books!

Body Morphin' by Andrew Mayne

the effects were pretty.. well.. unspectacular and only work in very specific senarios, even the image on the title (if youve seen the cover of the book) is a really hard thing to do, there is no trick to it, only a very limber magician will be able to pull that off, and at 250lbs and 6-foot-2 I am not one of them!
