Hello, and thank you in advance for any support.
I have written down the following Bob Cassidy quote about Larry Becker, and cannot recall where I found it. It does not appear to come from the Café, and I have not been able to locate it in "The Artful Mentalism, Volume Two". I am certain it was in print and not in a lecture. About Larry Becker, according to Cassidy, ‘People don’t see him perform and say, “He is a mentalist,” or “He is a magician.” They don’t go home after a performance and tell people that they saw a mentalist today. His unique brand of whatever-it is-that-he-does leaves his audiences remembering just one thing – they saw Larry Becker today.’ Cassidy continues, ‘That, of course, is the ultimate goal of any entertainer - to wear a label that says who he is rather than what he does.’ Secondly, I am looking for a quote from Harry Anderson about the motto of the Left-Handed League. I am sure this quote comes from "Games You Can't Lose" but I don't have access to my copy of the book. If someone could provide me the correct quote and page number, I would be very appreciative. From memory, it goes something like this: ‘When you’re up against the wall, and if all else fails, tell them the truth. Maybe they’ll fall for that.’ Thanks again for your support. Best, SS |
