Hi guys,
I wanna do a comedy routine similar to the disappearance of a cigarrette (on stage), then, after a few monemts, smoke 'pours' from inside my jacket and out of my collar. Your ideas on a product would be appreciated. Thanks.

Here is the late Great Johnny Brown's idea on doing this smoke effect. Get a thin tobacco can/tin from a tobacco show or use a bandage tin.
Go to a joke shop and purchased a product called Condensed Smoke. This was a joke item that when a person put there cigarette in an ashtray, cloude of smoke would pour from the ashtray. Sew a pocket in the front of your trousers on the inside center. I would line the can with fireproof material I found at the builders supply store. Now when the vanished cig is dumped into the can the smoke will emit. To put out dump water in the can. This is real fire and it will not go out on it's own. I do not know if they still sell this product. But that is how it is discribed in the book 'Go Ahead I'll Wait'. SO BE CAREFUL! |

They make a mini smoke machine made for that very purpose.
I believe Hocus-Pocus, Penguin and Daytona all carry it. Do a search at different sites. You'll find it. It's also been advertised in Magic Magazine.

Many thanks guys. Guardian I'm gonna go for the smoke machine. But thanks for your input Wmhegbli (Is that Skandinavian?), if the machine cuts out I'm gonna have all the other stuff ready. I may not be doing cabaret ever again but what the hell, there's always the the fire-fighting trade-shows.
