Hi there, I read something about a Book from E. Evans with the title " Streetmagic and the Art of War". Is this book in print and if yes, where I can buy it? Thank you for helping me.

Hi Shorty,
Yeah, I've heard of it and it has been a monkey on me back for some time now. It'll be done as soon as that lunatic of a co-author settles down and realizes that he's a brilliant editor and writer and to hell with the rest of his career. That'll probably be sometime in the 22nd century at the pace he's going. I'm on the road right now, hence my unfortunately late reply to this query. All the best to you and your kin there. |

Hi Eric, thank you for your answer. It was a hard work to translet, I am from Switzerland and my english is of course realy bad. Its a shame, I realy like to see your in action!!! Do you travel to Europe to perform Steetmagic, or just in the States? I am was in luck, when I start doing Magic, a student from Cellini take me to the right way. I love this kind of Magic. Anyway, if I still life at the 22nd century, i realy like to read your book and I am sure it is beautiful!!
Have fun on your trip!!!! Greetings Shorty |

Way to go Eric! I love your attitude.
I am tired of the magic community looking done on Street Magic, and I think some of us just need to take it to them! Remind your co-author, that if something is worth doing, it is worth doing badly! Content is King. And if you have something to say, it will not matter as much how it is said, than it matters that it never got said! But if you have nothing to say, no manner of tweaking will ever make it "right." The reality is that it will never be perfect, as you are constantly learing and changing your view of perfection. So get it out, and spend all that additional refining and perfecting time on the second edition! BroDavid

Shorty -- I apologize for not making my original post clear. I thought you were someone that I knew who occasionally goes by the nickname "Shorty".
Simply put, this book is the hardest undertaking I've ever attempted. I started work on it about 4 years ago and it is perhaps 80% done. It might be completed in another 6 months and then again, it may not. If it continues much beyond that, you can start looking over the obituaries for my gruesome end. David -- I definitely know what you're saying and agree to a large extent. In this particular case though, if the logic is not all laid out in an exhaustive manner, the meanings and conclusions made in the book will suffer from a lack of corroborative examples that lend weight to the findings. Critics would therefore have legitimate grounds for dismissing the overall thrust of the book's contents. Finally, I'm founding an organization, "Authors Anonymous". Anyone contemplating a book should probably contact me before any real harm is experienced. Not that I have any answers regarding this unfortunate condition, but "misery loves company". |
