A while back I was briefly shown a very “simple” method to do an ACAAN. I suppose it could be used for many effects.
I’m having a bit of trouble “doing it correctly”, and if I knew the name I’d be better suited to find the original book or creator, to get some help with the details. I’m trying not to reveal methods here, so bear with me? It involves a control (to top). It is impromptu and can be done with a borrowed deck. The cards are counted by the magician from one hand to the other. (I think) just before the final card is shown, the previous card is shown as a convincer. Then the numbered card is “shown” (in a very bold, almost-but-not PROPHETIC way) Then the card “after” the numbered card (I think). Can anyone help me track down the origins? As I said, I'm having some trouble with the details, but it’s probably my favorite method, and I’d really like to get better. |

Check R Paul Wilson's YAMFACAAN , I think that is like what you describe.

Ah! Based on his demo, it looks almost identical, except the methods are slightly different. But based on my description, you both nailed it with a great recommendation.
The one I was referring to retains order while counting. But dang... I'm tempted to switch for this. I will definitely shop both, and see which (for my style) feels and flies the best. Thanks so much! |
