I am thinking of getting this. Do the mechanics work just as well as the appearing cane, and the vanishing cane? Am I right in saying that you can only appear it from behind a silk, not in full view of the audience? Can you vanish it in full view or does it again have to be from behind a silk?
Does it look like a real candle from close up? Would you recommend that I buy this or just an appearing candle, or vanishing one on its own instead? Any help would be great! Thanks. Sam |

Sam,
This is a Vanishing Candle with a unique lighting device attached. You get a ribbon and candle. It is a great item. You can visibly vanish it, put to produce you have to use a silk or the ribbon enclosed. As far as close up, I do not recommend it, it is a stage trick. I have used it in a home party with great success. I would say you must be at least 6 to 8 feet from your audience. The appearing candle only appears, then you must put it away. It does not appear lit, unless you buy that version. But again, I would buy the Candle and Ribbon for vanish, appear, vanish, appear, vanish type of routine. You can do the vanish and appear routine similiar to what Lance Burton does in his act. Although he uses the regular Vanishing Candle and a match pull device. |

Thanks wmhegbli,
I have heard somewhere that you can appear the vanishing candle, as well as vanishing it. Is this true? |

I believe that is what I said above. That is what the Ribbon and Candle does. Please re-read what I have posted.
But only with cover of a silk or ribbon, not visually, without cover as in the normal appearing candle. |

I have ordered this now from Viking Magic.
Is there any way that you can appear to 'take' the flame off the candle, so it appears as if it is on your hand/finger? (Would a tt flame work for this?) Thanks. Sam |

Yes, a TT flame allows you to take the flame from the candle. They are available from most stores. I think Vernet makes a good version.
