My take:
Paul Curry's Out of This World is considered to be one of the great classics in magic. It is a total fooler and a killer effect but there were always a few things that bothered me. First of all, you couldn't spread the deck face up before performance. You were not allowed to cut the cards. Lastly (and most significantly to me), you had to go through the whole deck before the ending was revealed creating a long, long trick.

Off World has addressed these faults brilliantly. Not only can you spread the deck face up, you also perform it with the deck held face up. You can also stop the trick at any point because their decision is revealed after every card. Another great thing is that this can be done entirely in the hands. So, if you do walk around, you don't even need a table to perform this. Plus, it resets instantly.

It is suggested that you do a very small bit of Do It Yourself when setting up the deck. I would suggest carefully looking at each card to make sure it is aligned the proper way before taking this step. Several of the cards in my my deck seemed to be aligned improperly. I was eventually able to get everything situated and the deck works fine but it would have gone much more smoothly if the deck had come in with the proper order. However, this is a small thing and does not detract from the power of this effect.

Instructions are provided via a downloadable 55 minute video taught by Greg Wilson. I have usually found that anything with Greg's name attached is not only worth checking out but almost always worth the expense. Along with the care and feeding of the deck, Greg teaches a couple of routines. The video seems geared to the street magician and features the regular type of spectator you are used to from the David Blaine shows. He does get some great reactions from them however.

J P Vallarino has created a truly brilliant new take on an old classic. This will not only fool your audience, it should fool the pants off your fellow magi. If I saw this demo'd at a convention, I think it would probably be a sell out. It is easy to do and the effect is jaw dropping.

Except for the problem I had setting up, I highly recommend this. This is one of those tricks that you just like to watch yourself do because it looks so impossible and is one you will carry with you.
