Fabulous Frank Bianforte was co-owner and house magician of Playland Not At the Beach (in El Cerrrito CA). This venue had artifacts from the original amusement park, plus loads of games, pinballs, etc AND 2 magic shows a day. He had actually done magic at the original Playland in San Francisco. Anyway, it closes today, Labor Day because of rental and other costs. Frank is a member of the Oakland Magic Circle. Hopefully, he will be able to continue his excellent childrens' shows, including all the bad jokes. Lynn

It's a liquidation, so everything is up for sale... 30 pinball machines, antique games, hand-carved dioramas that depict San Francisco in 1939, funhouse mirrors, Laughing Sal (look her up), antique posters, etc. I'm really going to miss this place and Frank's shows, bad jokes and all! (ps I mis-spelled Frank's last name... it's Bianfore). Lynn |
