I have read the description for this routine @ Hocus Pocus, I fully understand the "supreme" and the cost, as there supplying first class props, and supplying the complete routine.
Having never seen this routine, can anyone provide more information in regards to how the routine plays in front of an audience. Is it funny? Magical? Is it routine that perhaps only Harry Anderson himself would get the best out of it? |

I'd love to find a brown Himber wallet just like Harry uses in his Polaroid Money routine.

Buy the book Wise Guy and it will tell you everything you want to know and more. I tried to make up my own cufflinks as per the instructions in the book using epoxy, dropped my cuffs once and the epoxy did not hold. Next time around I would invest in having a professional weld it together.

Yes there is a DVD version. You can buy it direct from Harry (he will also autograph it)or Meir Yedid. I have watched it so many times I have lost count. It is my favorite video.

Thanks for the feedback. I am aware that there is a book and a VHS/DVD "Hello Sucker" available to view the routine. The "Supreme" version from Hocus Pocus comes with a DVD of live performance.
I can purchase the DVD/VHS Hello Sucker, however I am still curious of those who own the Hello Sucker performance or the routine itself of your thoughts on the routine, as far as how it plays in front of a live audience. " A Review" Also, the Hello Sucker video at Meir Yedid's site says "discontinued". |

It's a thumb tie routine, I would imagine based loosely on an idea by Billy McComb. For an idea of how this plays look on youtube for Mac King doing his card to pocket routine, Cufflinks is similar but uses handcuffs instead and with a lot more physical comedy with your spectator. A word of warning, your audience better like you before you do this or they will hate you after it, you're getting really up close and personal with a volunteer and we have all seen the ways magicians can abuse their volunteers, tread carefully.

This can play well, but you need to watch the angles. Personally, I've had better success with the thumb tie.

Harry Anderson himself said
in his Penguin Live lecture that he would NEVER use the Cufflinks that are sold using his name (but not permission). He said that the thought that went into this $300 marketed gimmick is terrible. The handcuffs Harry used had a lever unlatching thing, whereas the marketed version requires you to unlock the handcuffs using a key. As Harry joked, "But what could go wrong? Who has ever lost a key?" Years ago I purchased Buffalo Bill/Cufflinks, but I have since lost the key to the handcuffs. Anyone know whether I can buy a handcuff key for these? |

I never understood, a large city like Indianapolis, never could support a magic and novelty store. Come to Fort Wayne, if for your handcuff needs. |

(I'm sure they exist, but have got to be rare). So maybe give Ebay a shot? Or Etsy, if you're looking for a cool aged looking key. |

Thank you. Didn't realize handcuff keys were not each unique.
