Hi.
Recently I have been practicing the "push-through false shuffle", and in this respect I have also tried to polish on my true tabled riffle shuffle, so that they look the same, and so I know that my basic technique is sound. However, there is one recurring problem I have during tabled riffle shuffles, and that has to do with the part where you push the cards together with your ringefinger: I often miss a card or two. I struggle to dig deep enough into the table to be able to push all the cards as a block. Any idea what I might be doing wrong? Do you use the nail or the pad of the ringfinger? Could the proxblem be the positioning or pressures of the other fingers? |

Do you also have this problem when you use a close-up pad?
I'm actually not a fan of using close up pads and rarely require them. But if you answer this question, I think people may be able to offer you more help. You could even use a mouse pad or something else soft around the house. Sorry this doesn't help you much but I think answering this could get you a lot more help. AsL |

I was going to ask the same thing. Tabled riffle, casino style, is usually done on a soft surface so you can 'dig' a little under the cards.
Side note - you might find this video useful: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UeEMaZqMRp0 There are a number of different varieties of the tabled riffle, sometimes small details of one or another will work better for you.
