Recently I've seen a trick utilizing the double back but I do not know the name of this trick. Here is the effect. A card is choosen and lost in the deck. The deck is cut half and the deck is spread with the back facing magician. A card with a Question mark is seen. The magician turn the card around and it is the choosen card. Then the magician turn the card to reveal that the question mark is gone.
I've decided to purchase a deck of double back for this effect only. Anyone knows any kick ass effect like the one just mentioned that uses the double back as well? |

I do an effect, affectionately called, "The Day". My wife actually came up with the idea (It is just a variation on several other effects of the same type, nothing really original). It uses a DB card to accomplish the routine. If you want to check it out you can PM me.

Rather than buy a deck of double backers you would be better going for a deck of mixed fakes, that way you get blanks, red/black combinations, and double faces.
If you only want one you could make your own. |

Magicwarehouse carries those as well. The assortment deck costs about 9 dollars. The deck comes with Blank Back, Double Blank, Blank Face, Double Back (Blue), Double Back (Red), Double Back (Red/Blue), and Double Face cards. Notice that the cards are Bicycle. Do you use these cards in Malaysia?

Jay Sankey's One Car Garage is a great effect. You need more than just a regular double-backer to perform it though.
I do like the Jay Sankey trick that's on The Very Best Of Jay Sankey Vol. 1 I believe. It uses a double backer with an X drawn on the back. I use it all the time in my restaurant walk-around. You should definitely buy the video as there is a lot of great material on it. Hope this helps.
Check out my Main Event project (DVD or Download).

Cjmagicman, Jay Sankey's routine is called "Prediction Impossible," not to be confused with his marketed effect which has the same name. It is a great routine, I use very often as well.
