Hi all, Can anyone recommend any good books on Coin Magic. I already have Karl Fulves self working coin magic and J B Bobos Modern Coin Magic. Thanks

I'm new myself. But, apart from Bobo's I noticed some coin tricks in my Mark Wilson's Complete Course of Magic.
You may wish to look into it. Bohh |

I second the Roth book.
I'm also very keen on Coinmagic, but I think it may be out of print. This topic was explored recently so its worth a look for. The Wilson book has only a small amount of coin magic and duplicates Bobo. Eddie |

Kaufman's "David Roth's Expert Coin Magic"
It is a bit pricey, but is amazing.

I've seen many recommendations for Introduction to Coin Magic by Shigeo Futagawa. You can see the table of contents here: http://magicref.tripod.com/books/futagawacoin.htm I ordered a copy from half.com last week but received the wrong book! I'll be trying again this weekend.

I received a copy of Introduction to Coin Magic this weekend and wanted to follow up. It is a pleasantly done, easy to follow book with lots of hand-drawn illustrations. Chapters explain sleights and then follow with tricks to reinforce them. I've only scratched the surface so far, so I won't comment any further except for the neat surprise I found while skimming through the first time.
Scattered throughout the book are pages that contain a photo of a magician followed by a short biography. T. Nelson Downs precedes a section on the Downs palm, Han Ping Chien precedes a section on the move named after him, while other magicians, like Dai Vernon and Slydini, are placed for reasons that aren't obvious to me. Anyway, there is a group of biographies at the end of the book, and contained amongst these was a practitioner that I instantly recognized as a frequent contributor to the Café. Pete Biro, who I know only through his insightful posts, was there in a top hat pulling a giant 1964 half from his jacket. It was cool seeing a familiar face. |

Try BoBo's Modern coin Magic. It's a classic.

Ron Bauer's Gadabout Coins Revisited - The original write up is in Bobo's but this one is much better. Sure its just one trick, but the presentation is great and its one trick you'll keep doing.
Just think of all the books/DVDs you've bought and you don't do a single one out of the set. |
