Hey, guys! So I did something different with my newest release. When I post full demos of my products, some magicians say, "I like your honesty but maybe you're too honest:" meaning that after a few views, a magician could reconstruct the effect. But when I don't post full demos, I get flack for that. So I took a different approach this time. I tried to edit these demos so you could get the idea of the effect but wouldn't see all of the moves (not that there's much to see). I know I'll get flack for this, too, but you can't please everyone!
I'm particularly happy with the "Collectors" routine. I've always wanted to come up with a version where the three selections are shuffled into three different packets. Another nice aspect is that the spectator decides on which packet to put the Kings. It's all very fair. Anyway, check it out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YJMWuAvOtYQ

You're right, here comes the flack. I love your work so I just assume it's going to be good but that demo was like watching a performance while someone was cycling the light on and off in the room.
Pick a card, any card at all. Just don't pick a RED spade.

Cameron, unless you feel sales are lost, or sales are flat when you post full videos , I prefer the full routine.

With all the cuts and the loud music I didn't like it at all and just found it confusing as to what exactly was going on, I think a proper unedited version of just one effect is much better personally but good luck with it I hope it does well.

Got to agree with above. I would think that most of the people buying your stuff appreciate the full demo but you know best
Best of luck |

The demo is ok if you turn the sound off. I like that little throwing move in the triumph effect. Trying to think what other situations it could be used in.

Okay, here is a full Demo of COLLECTORS ITEM, one of the three effects. Although I'm doing this straight to camera, keep in mind that the spectators cut the deck into three piles and shuffle a couple of the piles themselves.

Hooray, now I see the effect and I like it. Just need some justification for placing the kings temporarily on the bottom like that. Still a nice effect and it doesn't look too difficult to do.

Well, from the spectators point of view, you don’t put anything on the bottom. You cut the Kings into the middle to demonstrate what you will be doing in the near future. This is your justification. There are other moves you can use to get things into position, but this, to me, is the most efficient way of doing it.

I picked this up earlier this week and the effects are very good, as you would expect from Cameron. Collector's Item is a well constructed version of the plot and it feels very fair with the spectator shuffling and cutting the cards - I will be using it. I didn't think I would like Guarded as much as I did, but its a very nice routine. The Triumph was the weakest of the three in my opinion as I prefer other handlings where you get cleaner displays of the mixed up state- but this trades that for an easier handling which may appeal to some.
Overall, this is a no brainer. I would have been happy with just Collectors Item or Guarded for the asking price, so to get the 3 effects for so cheap is quite the bargain. Well done, as usual, Cameron! |
