The performers on Penn & Teller Fool Us, make their own props themselves, or they have a craftsman make them for them to their specifications. That costume Dynostaats was wearing makes him a Steam Punk magician. We have a topic on Steam Punk magic here on the Café. I know nothing about that form of magic, but is seems to a period in another era.
The only possible place you might find them is after their appearances on the show, find their website and see if they offer them for sale. A number of performers have done this. They use the show more for promotion of them and their produces then actually wining the trophy. Check back the website, because sometimes it may take a year or so before they release it. You can also simply contact the performer and see if he has any intention of releasing his invention. True professional magicians never release something they have created, as that makes them unique, and another reason to hire them, and only them. The idea of the show, is not to perform effects that are already on the market, as Penn & Teller would know instantly the secret behind the effects. Then why bother to try and fool them when hundreds of magicians already know the effect and how it is accomplished. |
