I agree. This is a huge problem. I bought this almost brand new for $65 from an estate sale. Peter mentions that he isn't convinced about the idea of a switch. Well, I am sold on that idea after having to charge this thing until the time for performance. No matter how one spins it, keeping this constantly on a USB Power Bank or plugged into an electrical outlet cannot be good for the battery life over time.
I am also thinking that due to this stipulation of charging the unit until an hour or less before performing, the CTC unit's time to maintain a charge will get less and less over time. Great idea, but I am now publicly questioning the execution. I see the potential, love the remote, and blew friends a way with my one performance with this. Yet, 5 to 6 hours later, it was dead. I cannot imagine how I would feel if I paid full price for this due to the battery not maintaining a charge longer while it is not in use. A switch would tremendously help and make this item in the Top 3 releases this year (or last year). |

I fitted a switch on mine , it’s dead easy and works all week on one charge alone . You charge in the off position and turn off as and when you can in between several performances . Brilliant effect though I must say and more than justified tweaking Gaz 🙂

Gaz,
That is great. You and ol' Ollie must be Electrical Engineering majors. As for me, the only type of engineering I studied in college was social engineering in the bars. Someone said earlier in this thread best when he asked..and let me paraphrase... "Why do we have to do these changes and hacks to make the product work as it should?" And that is a da*n good point! If I screw things up, I am out of luck. I know that Peter comes on from time to time.. If you see my posts, I think you are a very creative and talented magician. This product has some fantastic merits, but no switch is a major miss that takes this effect from an A+ to a B. |
