Are there any DIY tutorials available to make a Himber wallet? Or Mullica, or another sort of gaffed wallet?
My wife's hobby is sewing, and she often asks me whether I have a particular wish what she could do for me. I thought some magical props would be a good idea. |

I would imagine that wallets are more leatherwork than sewing. I do a lot of my own card gaffing, and making many props myself but I have not seen anything along the "wallet line" out there. If sewing is her hobby, have you explored topits? Grab Michael Ammar's "Topit Book" (it comes with the pattern and instructions for a tailor / seamstress). I made my own but would have loved to have someone who understood sewing better make mine.

Here we have it again: I note that I, being strictly an amateur, lack some magical basics. I have never heard about topits. Mabe I know what it is, maybe not, but the word is completely new to me.

A "topit is a powerful 'secret' pocket inside your sportcoat. You can secretly toss items inside it and they will remain concealed there." (https://www.vanishingincmagic.com/magic/topits) Like Poof-Daddy mentioned Michael Ammar's "Topit Book" (http://www.penguinmagic.com/p/6522) is a good place to start. Best of luck!

Devils Hank and egg bags are also good magic props to explore. They often come in colors or patterns other than what I would choose.

I knew a man who made his wallets from duct tape. Seems like it could also be possible to make a Himber wallet or some other form of magic wallet the same way, since duct tape is much thinner than leather and no sewing required. Might give it a try to just find out someday.

All right. Thanks! I was in the process of designing my own wallet so I could make one or modify one I already have.
