I will be in New Orleans for four or five days and hopefully performing on the street. I would appreciate any leads you have on a cheap place to stay. I have my own foam mattress and sheets so it wouldn't need to be fancy, but access to a shower would be nice.

Metarie is cheaper, or Slidell. If you have a vehicle then any Walmart in the area is ok for parking overnight. As for places, this is the worst time of year (Mardi Gras!) to look.

Thank you for the reply, Eric. I ended up in a bnb for three nights and then in my car. It was a good trip. Thanks to all of the performers who welcomed me and gave suggestions.
