Hi. I recently purchased Doug Dyment's "Sign Language." Everything about it is great: the writing, the explanation, the effect.
I thought of something: Borrow any item from your spectator that has writing on it: it could be something plain like a store receipt or a dollar bill. Stare at it. Pretend to point out cetain letters you see written on it. Begin Doug Dyment's routine -- as if the letters ON THE PAPER have a special connection to her and her horoscope. I've found that this is more effective than looking at the spectators and risking fishing. |

Fib,
I think the strength of this routine is that you don't appear to fish, you tell (when it's performed well, of course). If you want to maximise hits, try doing this routine on two people at the same time. Something else you might consider is asking someone to think of a person whose star sign they know. Imagine the climax when you are able to reveal first the thought-of star sign, then the thought-of name, then the name's relationship to the person you are performing for. I'll let you work out the specifics for yourself if this appeals. It becomes an entire routine when used like this. (Consider combining the name revelation with a bit of cold reading too...)
