I had great success with finding proper credits for the bottle production. Next I am looking for the origins of a move using a chop cup. The idea is to place the cup in the spectators hands, hit the top of the cup and allow the ball to appear in their hand all while out of control of the magician. I use this in my act but have never discovered its true origins. Any leads on this would be much appreciated as well.

Heres a vid for reference:

Hi Michael,

Going back a couple of decades, I saw Andrew Wimhurst and later George Schindler use this idea. I believe they came up with it independently. Of course, I can't rule out the possibility that it may have occurred to others also.

Sincerely,

Scott Alexander uses this move in his Chop Cup routine as well.

Also see Peter Rosengren's ‘Psycho Ball’, (Genii, June 2002); while I suspect George Schindler probably developed his handling first, I think Peter was first to publish.
