Not sure if this is the right area to post this. I came across “big brother by brian connor” on Ellusionist today. Seems very interesting as a concept. I was hoping to find a thread with this already being talked about . ( first starter thread here )
big brother has my attention. Appears promising imo In Collaboration with Lost Art Magic, this is Big Brother by Brian Connor. George Orwell warned us about the dangers of empowering robots... but Brian's done it anyway. In Big Brother the spectator selects a card from the deck. A completely free choice. You then ask the internal robot in your phone to name a playing card. "The 4 of Hearts" it says. The selection is turned over and BAM, it's the 4 of Hearts. Your audience goes BONKERS. **Gasps** / **Screams** / **Running away briefly only to come back to ask you how it's done** Was there ever any doubt? You're a magician after all, even the way you breathe is incredible. - No custom magic app. - Uses the genuine Google Assistant. - Can be performed signed. It's pointless and adds nothing to the effect... but it can be. - Android and iPhone compatible. Don't worry iPhone users, you can break-up with Siri and use the official Google Assistant too. FREE. Brian teaches you how to train it to do what you want. Like a tamagotchi that you never need to feed... and that does magic. He runs through everything in incredible detail, but the crazy 'phone-istry' spins are not taught. Big Brother is more than enough to impress your audience already. Without busting out those moves. Learn 'Big Brother' TODAY. "... Brian" - Spidey https://youtu.be/1hewhD2GVuo |

I took the plunge.
On the plus side you can do everything that is demonstrated in the trailer. On the negative side this requires considerable setup, although it is 1 time, and quite a bit of memorization in order to pull this off. |

I also took the plunge. I agree, you can do everything that the trailer she’s. Unfortunately for me, I’m an Apple user. I did know in advance that I’ll need to do specific things . But out side of the set up. ( which should only need to be done on eve . I hope ) I believe I’ll use this. I’ll give a more thorough review after I’ve set it and memorize the appropriate steps . If they had included a M***** D**k, it would have been a steal. Lol

I took the plunge yesterday and must admit it's a lot of work to set up and then there is a lot of memorization needed. I doubt if I will bother

Ok........ So here is my full review on Big Brother.
When I first seen the trailer for it I was excited. Like with a lot of magic I’ve purchased in the past. Which, some were not even worth the energy after finding out how impractical they were. This is not one of those effect. It carries legitimate excite imo. I have performed this a few times now and have received very animated reactions each time. So let me cover what it is and what’s required to make this happen properly. The set up. Yes. There is a set up that does take a while to set up everything. There’s actually two different set ups recommended to get the same effect you see in the trailer. But honestly, you don’t have to set them both up right away. Which is how I originally started. While the set up is a little time consuming, I believe it’s a one time thing. So you don’t have to continuously keep repeating the set up. I’ll also be fair. After getting use to the set up, you’ll start to get quicker at it after a few en*****. It becomes easier to set up. Even though there is quite the set up, it in no way deterred me from wanting to keep at it. And learn it. Now I have to be honest here . I don’t want to mislead anyone in this review. There are some things that need to be memorized. I know that a lot of people prefer the super easy to do stuff. Which is imo, is a bad habit we all had or have at one point and time. But this is without a doubt, something well worth the time spent on to learn. Plus some. It’s really no different than learning a new move . Another great aspect of Big Brother, is how much “FUN” it is to play with. I promise you, you will play with this and laugh quite a few times. It’s so clever. And humor is one of the main side effects from learning the set up. I have had a ton of fun with it. The reactions 😳😳😳 My presentation is a little different than in the trailer. But the effect in general has such an impact on people because it’s reslistic to them and they’re familiar with what’s in the presentation. ( those that own it will know what I mean ) not one person has suspected a thing when I perform this for them. It also passed the girlfriend/wife test. That says a lot. I have also read some of the reviews on E. And I have to respectfully disagree with a couple in general. Being that I have access to both an Apple and an android phone, the error’s that these customers have unfortunately experienced, are user error IMO. And not the system or Brian’s issue. But he wil help in any case As for the quality of customer service from Brian Connor. At first I was a little hesitant to contact him. And unsure. But..... Then Brian made certain when I did finally reach out to him, that I left our converse happy and content. Which I did. And if anyone is wondering if my issues that I contacted Brian about were user error? The answer is yes. 🤦♂️ My fault. Brian actually took the time to send me certain things that made it easier for me . I’m a satisfied customer for sure. My personal opinion on big brother, is that it’s a great tool to have available and will stump and completely baffle the people it’s performed for. I would recommend this to anyone who’s interested in this. I know some people are like “ awe man, I gotta do a set up and memorize stuff 😞 “ .. but it’s worth it . Maybe it’s the old school in me that really enjoys this so much. Maybe it’s that I just really enjoy learning new things. What ever it is, Big Brother is worth every penny of it. Oh, I almost for about the cons. There’s only one . And technically, it’s not a con at all. Just more of wishful thinking. The only thing that would have made me even more satisfied with my purchase, would have been of Ellusionist has included a M***** D*** with it. |

I spend almost a day translating to make the code work in Dutch to find out a** doesn't work in Dutch!
Did I miss a WARNING that this doesn't work in all languages, I wish I had known this before I spend all my precious time on this... |

And language was something I didn’t address in my review. Here is what I’ve found about the languages available. On Android phones and tablets, the ****le ********ce is available in Arabic, Chinese (Traditional), Danish, “Dutch”, English, French, German, Hindi, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese (Brazil), Russian, Spanish, Swedish, Thai, Turkish, and Vietnamese. More languages are coming soon. |

On the bottom of the page where you create your triggers, it says Language and you can 'only' select: English French German Japanese Italian Spanish Unfortunately no option for Dutch... I tried to create one trigger but it didn't work. I wish I could make it work because it's a very nice effect and I don't mind putting in some work (that I only need to do once). Cheers John |

I got this too but Google Assistant doesn't always pick up my voice accurately and I hate to leave anything to chance. Also Brian Brushwood teaches a similar trick on his Penguin Lecture which doesn't need any setup and the memorization is way easier.
