Timothy makes magic and mentalism interesting and engaging. If you haven’t seen his work then you are in for a real treat. I have seen him lecture and perform in the past and was really enthralled as where the rest of the audience and magicians. I’m looking forward to this. Joel

This is going to be an awesome lecture, Timothy is a great thinker, a great performer and a great guy. I was at the lecture that Joel mentions and it was absolutely fantastic.

I wish there was more material available from him to learn more. Any plans on releasing a book or DVD project Tim?

Hi!
Joel, thanks for your kind words (and thanks for those to the other gentlemen, too) and for making this announcement! We have just now updated the effect descriptions a little, and the trailer went online at Penguin yesterday. LastLaugh, that is correct - in an effort to keep my involvement in the community and my regular performing business apart I have adopted a slightly altered my name. Anything that is easily searchable (as in, published in big sited like Penguin) and that is not a limited release will be published as Timothy Krass. Psy, thank you for your interest! Apart from the LIVE Act, there's a Which Hand book, released at MINDfx within the next month or so, in a somewhat limited quantity and under my regular name it'll go into detail on my FU Act, all variations and everything I know about the method. There's also a whole lot of theory & philosophy - something I am deeply passionate about. On top of that, there will be two single-effect downloads with Penguin. I am not sure when they release. And, as Joel kindly pointed out, I have two books I sell at lectures available through me directly. So, yes, there are some projects coming...and due to some odd timing it seems like they're all coming at once o.o! Hopefully this answers the questions that arise so far. I believe the new Penguin LIVE Act format has tremendous potential and did my best to extract as much value as possible from it for the viewers with my lecture. All the best from Amsterdam, T.

What is interesting is that the laypeople who are 'turned off' from the performance all say 'he obviously uses paid actors/friends' - none of them think of PS as being a posibilty.
The problem with not doing the whole performance [PS] in front of the audience, is that many people will just jump to 'it was a stooge' - and I guess that is sort of correct [as if someone is PS-ed - if they don't mention that on stage, they are sort of in on the deception... even if they don't realise it... so you may as well just give a friend £10 to say what you want] |

When you say laypeople are turned off, are you talking about youtube comments? Not really a good representation of laypeople if you ask me...
Also, I don't think your comments about PS are accurate. There's always a part of the performance that the audience doesn't see, even if there's no PS. If you have a method to get the information, that's secret and not part of the public show. Whether or not that happens before or during the show makes little difference unless you are a magician/mentalist yourself. Saying that someone that has been PSd is in on part of the deception, and you might as well use a stooge is... not at all accurate. PS is usually applied as a type of DR. I get it if you personally don't like PS or DR. I don't use them in my shows either, but they are not at all the same or equivalent to stooges. Anyway, 'Timothy' is a very entertaining performer and I'm looking forward to his lecture. Perhaps a discussion about PS belongs in a different thread.

No that’s not what I meant
1 PS and not PS are different... as if a spec thinks it was a mirror behind the person when he wrote it down... that’s different then not seeing that part of the show and so it has to be a confederate 2 PS may well be used in a way with DR so the same framing means different things ... but they are not in anyway interchangeable - as DR is most often done during a performance - where PS that is not the case 3 I mean if you are going to PS you may as well use a stooge. In fact a stooge would be safer as anyone speaks to a spec and they say, ‘yeah and he read my mind, he got the thought I wrote down’.... ‘err what?’ That’s the moment, the cards fall. It doesn’t matter if they haven’t got the actual how, they have the deception and know that’s the ‘when’ or rather the key Yeah I don’t use either, as I feel it does do more damage than others realise. I also think that with too perfect (and quick) performers. Give me a bumbling and a ‘I don’t know how I do this but I just seem to be able to get it right...’ Osterlind any day And yes I know he’s done PS and DR - I just mean that style is so much better than the streamlined TV segment friendly 18 reveals in 60 seconds style of MTV mentalists |

I can't seem to understand the name of the peek he's using. Anybody able to tell me the name and creator of the peek Timothy talked about in this lecture?
