Hey, I was just wondering whether or not watching stage hypnotists' shows would be helpful in learning how to hypnotize? If so, which are the best DVDs to get? I was looking at the Royale DVDs but after the remarks on the forum I skipped them. I instead ordered The Hypnotic World of David Knight on DVD which is a full show. If anyone has this is it a good DVD, show?? Will it help?

Also, I have been working on the hand locking test but with varying success. Does anyone have any tips for it? Thanks.

With the hand locking test have them close their eyes when you are performing it. This eliminates much distraction and allows them to concentrate more fully. A good script that has been committed to memory should lock most people's hands. I have watched hands turn blue they locked them so tight. You will need complete conviction in your voice and a full belief that their hands will lock. Expect their hands to lock and they will lock.

A lot of the negativity on this board about Jonathan Royle IMHO is unfounded. I find his material to be very good and usable. Just know that he is a dirty hypnotist before ordering so you will know what you are getting ahead of time. I am a firm believer in a clean show and would never use his routines in performance. I may be a prude but I don't believe you need to hand someone a **** and call it an ice cream cone to have a funny show. But you can learn much in technique from Jonathan's material. He also has a private forum for those who have purchased his material and it is much more supportive and focused than what you will find here for hypnosis as its purpose is hypnosis only.

Hope this helps,

Some of the best advice is to go and see as many hypnotists as you can—live. Then you will really see what it's all about, and will give you a better idea of how to structure your show.

Personally, I get a lot from watching another good stage hypnotist. The important word here is good. I've seen some very, very bad ones. (To non-hypnotists, these people are like magicians using a glowing red TT.)

Look for the best. Although sometimes you are not going to know until you see them.

Enjoy,
M.

I used to do adult shows although using sex toys as not something I would find funny. Royle goes beyond that. He is proud that he once flashed his genitals on live TV to get attention in a studio audience. He thinks that's funny. He also sells others copyrighted material, that's why he gets a bad response.

Hi Shrink:

Is the impression device your product or did you just find a great product and want others to know about it. It sound like a great idea. An information collector that looks just like an ordinary legal or secretarial note pad. What is 26 pounds currently in US Dollars.
