Which has the best one? I don't want a cheap gimmick, but something that it will work every time and it will last. Any recommendation?

As a person who has purchased all of them, there is none with your requirements. Most magicians, even Lance Burton, had back up pined on him.
Give Tony Clark's a try. Also, none are automatic, you have to work with them, so you find out what pulling method works for you every time. |

I will try Tony Clark´s . It seems good , but I didn't like that it is for one match only. Thanks a lot Bill

All match production gimmicks are for only one match.

Ok Bill I didn't know. What about this from Viking? How it is compared to Tony Clark´s? https://www.vikingmagic.com/product/lit-......gimmick/

They are very similar in working and assembly. Remember Tony Clark is actually a working stage magician, and has presented his award winning act for many years.
Just buy both, and use the other as a back up in case one does not fire up. |

$12.00? Wow. I made my own out of the striker on a book of matches and a rubber band (saw it in a book a long time ago) and it worked every time, with occasional replacement.
That's our departed buddy Burt, aka The Great Burtini, doing his famous Cups and Mice routine

Fantasio had a great approach. His Sure-Lit gimmick incorparated a match-to-lighter effect. If the match didn't light, it would visually transform to a lighter and the candle would be lit with that. If two lightings were done in a routine and the first match lit ok, the second match would be blown out and transformed to a lighter. So you had both backup and variety of effect.
I took it one step further and added a striker on the side of lighter. Audiences think it is funny to light a match by striking it on a lighter rather than using the lighter. So the following scenarios come about with two Fantasio gimmicks with strike pads: If first match lights, no transformation just use match and pocket lighter. If second match lights, blow it out and transform to lighter and use that. If second match doesn't light, transform to lighter and use that. If first match doesn't light, transform to lighter and use that. If second match then lights, use that. If second match doesn't light, take out first lighter and strike match on lighter. Not sure if that is clear. But both Fantasio's original and the one with addition of strike pad gag gives multiple effects with absolutely 100% ignition backup. And whichever way it plays out, the audience thinks it was planned that way all along. |

FYI. Have been seeing quite a few ads for Trevor Duffy's Match Pull Pro.

The key to any match pull is friction and pressure.
whether it is a simple match book folded over and held with rubber band or a piece of thin plastic folded over. or a small bull dog clip or binder clip with some art foam. the best match pull I ever used was designed and made by Yigal Mesika. Never have I used something that was so perfect. sadly he has not made them in years and all 5 of mine finally broke after 16 years of use. I have even talked with him about making them again and its a big fat nope. boo hoo what I can recommend regardless of what match pull you get is to tape two matches together thus creating a larger flame when produced. This also helps ensure the matches light up. One other though is that I Keep hearing magicians say I want a match pull that works for hundreds of uses. that does not exist! personally for me I change the striker pads every 3 shows. thus I rarely if ever have had a match not light up. I do have a hidden striker on one of my props on stage with me that in the super rare occasion I can simply lean to the side a bit and strike the match. but that is only if the back up match did not light as well. if you wear shoes with a heal then you can tape a piece of striker just before the heal and use that as a striker. you can even add it into the routine pulling a match that does not light on purpose just so you can light it off your foot. LOL could even be part of misdirection for a steal. hope this info helps magically yours sam
