ABOUT THIS PROJECT...

After 130 years the classic Bicycle playing card gets a modern, sophisticated, and fresh look & feel

Bicycle® Insignia Back is the first custom deck of playing cards from The Magic Firm.
Printed by the US Playing Card Company, the Insignia Back Deck embodies a timeless feel.
The iconic Bicycle® logo adorns the card backs in a classic casino-style placement, creating a simple elegance that makes a bold statement.

The recognizability of the Bicycle® logo makes these cards perfectly suited for game night with friends, fantastic for magicians, and stunning for cardistry.





The faces of the cards are the same ones found on standard Bicycle® decks, with standard pips, court cards, and the iconic Ace of Spades.
There is one color joker and one black & white joker.





GAFF-TASTIC

Each deck comes with 2 special gaff cards. The gaffs are a “box front” gaff (a card that looks like the front of the box) and a duplicate two of hearts with a different back color.
The Black deck will have a WHITE-backed extra two. If other colors of the deck are unlocked they will each have a different color for the extra two. All backers will receive a video download from The Magic Firm’s Brent Braun teaching some incredible magic you can perform with these cards to fool your family & friends.



FANTASTIC FEEL & PERFORMANCE

Insignia Back will be printed on a Crushed Classic Stock with an embossed Air-Cushion™ “Magic Finish” to give a premium feel and handling. No matter what the application, Insignia Backs are designed to deliver the goods night after night.






OTHER COLORS? YES

For our main goal, we will create the Insignia Deck with a black back.
We have also created the deck in White, Red, and Blue. These additional colors will be unlocked as stretch goals.



What's that, you want to be able to mix your colors? You got it!

Anyone who pledges for multiple decks will be able to choose combinations of colors for whichever base decks get unlocked.
We're going to use a service called BackerKit to send out surveys to everybody once the campaign is over. You'll use that survey to let us know which colors you want.



Once each of those colors is unlocked, our next stretch goal will be a super special, ultra limited version of the White deck in a special box. This box will have no printing at all on the front or back. Instead, it will have the Bicycle® logo stamped with blind sculpted embossing so that you can see and FEEL it. This version will be limited to only 500 decks ever made. We also have stretch goals that will add numbered deck seals and gilded edges to the limited White decks.

If the community can smash through all of these stretch goals, we have even more fun ideas to unveil later on in the campaign!



ABOUT THE MAGIC FIRM...

Brent Braun is a creative consultant and a best-selling magic creator. As the founder of The Magic Firm, Brent has helped countless magicians across the globe build their acts and hone them for TV.
Brent created the effect “Torched and Restored” which won Richard Jones the grand prize on Britain’s Got Talent in 2016. Brent has also appeared on Penn & Teller Fool Us, as well as at magic conventions around the world.

Brent has recently begun building J&B Magic Shop & Theater, a premium brick & mortar location for all magic connoisseurs to get their secret supplies in addition to hosting live performances of the best in magicians in the world!
It will open in New Albany, Indiana in the second half of 2019.

Proceeds of the Bicycle® Insignia Project will go to support the J&B Magic Shop & Theater.

RISKS AND CHALLENGES

The designs for this project have already been approved by The United States Playing Card Co and we have signed off on the digital and hard copy proofs of the decks.
The only issue with any real likelihood would be a delay in printing or shipping. Since we are not using any specialized materials or 3rd-party vendors, this should be a straightforward print run and we do not expect any problems.

We have a terrific fulfillment center lined up that is ready to receive the decks and then get them carefully packed and shipped to backers worldwide.

If any issues or delays arise, we will definitely communicate them to our backers and explain the solution, as well as any changes to the timeline. Our goal is to deliver a terrific deck of cards to everybody as smoothly as possible.

We will use BackerKit to provide surveys after the campaign is over.
