I have searched ebay, do you all know where I can find used videos? Particularly ITR or levitation type stuff for close up.

Try looking around magicauction.com. I have never bought anything from them myself, but they appear to have quite a big selection of material. It's kind of like an ebay just for magic. They have everything ranging from books and videos, to stage props and other supplies.

Here at the Café. There is a great forum once you get past 50 posts, that deals with used merchandise.

I have used magicauction.com (mentioned above) twice and have been very satisfied both times. I purchased used books each time, and I found the conditions to be fairly graded.

If you live in Los Angeles or can get out here, twice a year there is a sort of "flea market" of magic at the Magic Castle.

The Magic Castle sale that magicmonkeyphoto mentioned is more than worth the trip to LA, no matter where you're travelling from.

In addition to the above 3, your local IBM/SAM magic club is probably a good resource as well.

As a note, if you're looking to buy something used, then (after you have 50 posts) post a "Wanted" thread in the appropriate "for sale" forum in the Café. In the post, note what you would like, how you are able to pay, etc. It's quicker and more effective than waiting for someone to sell something.
With these wanted posts, I've found just about everything I was seeking from other Café members that wanted to get rid of that used tape, book, utility, etc. that was sitting in their magic chest. You'll get different offers and they're usually very reasonable and some Café members will be open to trades. Most Café members are very fair and I've had a very positive experience with this. |

Thanks for the advice. 50 seems so far away. I am afflicted and have spent the last week camping on ebay. eventually, I will have to be stopped!

Check out these categories on Ebay:
Collectibles:Fantasy, Mythical & Magic:Magic:Tricks Toys & Hobbies:Classic Toys:Magic, Magician Supplies Collectibles:Fantasy, Mythical & Magic:Magic:Other Magic Items Collectibles:Fantasy, Mythical & Magic:Magic:Books I've bought quite a few things on ebay, just look for reviews of items you're interested in first. I even saw once a complete set of the Tarbell books (1-8) for $145. |
