This is a great effect!
Definitely not your standard coin fare, this can be presented with a mental, hypnotic, or spooky angle. Definitely will be a mindf*ck for your participant. There is a thing you have to track down to do it, but there are options. I found a rec by searching the effect here at the Café. I just ordered the thing, very much looking forward to trying this out.

It IS a great effect! I really had to look through David's old-fashioned presentation and patter, but the effect itself is smart and quite impressive for the participant. I do think it's best as a one-on-one effect.
Please check regularly if you are becoming the type of magician Jerry Seinfeld jokes about. (This applies to mentalists as well.)

Depending on how bold you want to be, the "special something" you need you already have. The only reason you'd have to source anything new is if you wanted to be extra convincing, take a little less risk.

Yeah if you use his actual specification (is to that as that is to this = 1.25), you'd use something that you probably have if you're into coins at all.
However, I think it's too big/heavy/not subtle enough (and it's not what he actually recommends). So I ordered something on ebay, cost $14, but it's a nice 'something'. If you can find the one David uses, it's probably only a buck or two, shipped. Bottom line, yes, you can find something that will work online or at a local shop, easily. From what I've gleaned, the magic number is 36 btw.

This is a simple and fun little transposition. I had to source the needed item from Ebay, but no problem in finding what was needed. The $5 price for the download is a bargain. Glad I stumbled on to this.
