Finally picked this up. The major plus is that it leaves a final product that is visually impossible compared to the normal AW ending which is certainly impossible but not obvious unless you handle it. The negatives are the chosen card stock. With Bike and Phoenix pumping out killer gaffs, the choice of card stock here was a miss IMO. Not a deal breaker but a definite negative. Another potential negative is that the final reveal is “too perfect.” It is clear that the cards were printed vs magically melted together. David Blaine offers a tip to go around the overlapping edge with a pin to rough it up and give a tactile element that at least gives the impression the cards were at one point truly separate. Steve glosses over this but I think it is an important tip. From a handling perspective, this version is more streamlined than the normal AW handling but because of the nature of the gimmick, it is more fiddly as well. I think printing the final object in an injogged/outjogged configuration vs a diagonal configuration would have made the handling a little cleaner. With AW, the gimmick is in the deck from the start. Not the case here. So you need a pocket to house the gimmick and you have to ring it in during the routine. Not hard, but if you are afraid of palming a normal card, palming the gimmick here will probably cause you some anxiety. The final negative is the instructional video. For some reason Steve chose to shoot this outside with a stationary camera that is about ten feet away and he chose to stand at a 45 degree angle pointing away from the camera. All odd choices that make the video less than clear. You can figure everything out but shouldn’t have to work nearly this hard.
Overall, this is an interesting twist on the AW plot. There are definitely negatives. The only real plus is that the end product looks visually more impossible. If that is a critical consideration for you, this is worth your consideration. |

One of the last living 10-in-one performers. I wanted to be in show business the worst way, and that was it.

I chose the Cartamundi card stock because at the time uspcc couldn’t print it and wouldn’t let anyone else use their designs and card shark could but wanted just to buy it off me. I am due to reshoot the video shortly too. I will definitely include more close ups! Thanks again 👍🏼 |

I think you could get away with using standard red bikes with the gimmick. The differences in design would not be that noticiable in performance. See Gimmick next to a red backed bike card.
