I just bought Koran's "One Word in a Thousand" and think it's great. So I'm a bit hooked on the booktest. Both DV and MOABT seem pretty expensive. For a quick miracle, one-on-one, which would you recommend? Can these really be worth their asking price?

Can't speak for DV, but MOAB, while it can be done one on one, is better (I feel) for a stage setting. It is the best book test I have used and worth far more than the asking price.

DV is a gift that keeps on giving. The more time you put in studying the product the more you can take out. MOAB is about three times the price but it is about three times as easy—once you put in some initial work (or invest in a mechanical crib device to help you like, dare I say it, Z-Scan?).
Okay, sorry, my mind wandered to self-promotion. If I had to do without one or the other I'd have to select DV. But they really are two quite different products with quite differing effects. |

I do not own MOABT. I do own DV, and think it's excellent. Recommended!

Larry Becker, incredibly, posted the full directions (!) for DV in the Inner Secrets forum some time ago. Do a search and it should help you make a decision.

Even though MOAB is the better book test, DV allows you to do so much more with it. You can get words, pictures, maps and number sequences with it. It really is much more versatile. And it's cheaper than MOAB.
If I had to pick between the two, DV would be my pick, definitely. |

I prefer DV. DV gives you ALOT more options when creating a routine around it.

If anyone wants to buy one, go ahead, I'm sure if you did you'd have a very particular use in mind. Let's hope that reason isn't a cover for the CT.
I was probably a bit unfair about using the adjective "useless". The principle isn't (although not a new one at all) but its application isn't at all well thought out. It is certainly way overpriced. IMO, MOABT is rubbish. It went down like a lead balloon at my balloon sculpting parties. Seriously though. Unless you are a performing mentalist save your money. MOAB is imo the best there is (as far as booktests are concerned) but it will not be worth the investment to you if you're performing to friends and families. Double Vision is a well put together book test which is more than a word revelation and although I have certain issues with it (some of which are shared with most book tests) is worth buying. Santlerconjurer has been very honest and open about how Z-Scan is constructed and what it can be used for.
For this he deserves our respect, - I wish other dealers/inventors would be this open, instead of serving us a lot of over enthusiastic double talk as many (not all!!!) do In Santlerconjurer's explanation it should be informations enough for all of us to consider whether or not purchase the thing. Just my 2 cents Sven

Personally, I don't see Z-scan fitting into my act. However, I DO appreciate having a better appreciation of what it is I am buying before parting with my cash! and I commend the way that Z-scan has been described, allowing performers to make up their own minds about its possible usefulness.
Would anyone rather buy items in the dark ("there is NO explanation ... ")? |

That was one of my points. There IS a big difference, though; Here did the inventor/dealer reveal many of the secrets. He should have done this in Inner Thoughts though, not in Pennies. Sven

I would like the chance to reply to some of the comments in this thread about and Z-Scan and me.
Since the topic is really outside the subject matter of this thread I have opened a new thread in Inner Thoughts for this purpose. |

Once I got mine I told Larry I thought it would have been cheap at $300 not simply for what they put into it, but also for what you can do with it. |
