Sorry, I don't get it. Which musician, did we lose?
It says: "No deal: More than 49,000 members of United Auto Workers union strike as contract talks with General Motors falter."
If there is a single truth about Magic, it is that nothing on earth so efficiently evades it.

Sorry for the misunderstanding but I have read twitter before.

The Cars drove a cautious middle-lane between Rock and Wave.

Great pop songwriter! And a very nice guy. I “hung out” with The Cars in 1983 when they were recording their “Heartbeat City” album at Battery Studios. (I was on a European tour with Public Image Limited and we were in London for a few of days).
The album was being produced by my friend Mutt Lange. The band loved working with Mutt, but Ric confessed to me that he was was frustrated by how long the studio recording process was taking. (Mutt is a real perfectionist and insists on every musical part being perfect). Ric told me “I like to just go in, record a song, and get out.” However,. Mutt’s meticulous approach paid dividends because “Heartbeat City” became their most successful album after its release in 1984. It also yielded the hits “You Might Think”, “Magic”, “Hello Again”, “Why Can’t I Have You”, “Tonight She Comes” and “Drive” (see below). The actress in the video for “Drive”, Paulina Porizkova, became Ric Ocasek’s wife in 1989. In the ensuing years, I ran into Ric again a couple more times in New York City. He will be missed. |

I didn’t know much about the origin of The Cars, but gained some insight here:
