Her Penguin lecture won't air till November but she is continually surprising me with her knowledge of performance and theory. She has an article coming out in the November Penguin Magic Monthly that I think is a must-read for any comedy magician (even if you're not funny it's a good read).
She alsotalks about magic's place among the arts in this weeks Penguin Magic Podcast. Here's her interview: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n4CYP6BgRYU and here's the Podcast it was pulled from: http://podcast.penguinmagic.com/ She's quickly becoming my favorite performing magician, and her thoughts on theory are comparable to Darwin Ortiz in my opinion. If you haven't seen her perform check out her version of the chop cup. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tK3PfS0bGOI It's one of the best in existence in my opinion. It, unlike many, is actually entertaining! Well, I can't wait to see her entire lecture on November 3rd. |

I cancelled my subscription as I wasn't into last week's magician. Maybe I'll only be down a few weeks and start back up again. If only most magician's had her performing chops...

Yes, but she obviously has “issues”, otherwise she wouldn’t be dating Jack Lovick... 😉😂

Carisa is one of the most creative magicians out there today. I've had the pleasure of meeting her and watching her perform a show as Lucy Darling, and it was incredible. Funny, improvisational, artistic. I'm sure we can all learn a thing or two from her upcoming Penguin Live.

Wow! This definitely gets my vote for Best Penguin LIVE Promo ever!! Terrific routines, engaging personality (and alter personas), brilliant premise of the double act, and everything so polished and practical. Every second of it pulled me to buy the Penguin LIVE immediately!
This is my first intro to Carisa, and she will clearly be a favorite performer to keep watching. Kudos!! I thought that Think-a-Drink was going to be a marketed product, but it's a DIY?! It looks better than the super expensive kettle versions! |

I only knew Carisa by his appearance in P&T Fool Us. But this lecture is incredible. The double act theory is great and all the tricks are practical and very strong magic.

Carisa hasn't identified Carisa's preferred pronouns. And as gender is a fluid, subjective condition that may not match the sex assigned at birth, I think it's sexist and typical cisgender, heteronormative patriarchal oppression to assume objective binary stereotypical classification to the object currently identifying as Clarisa.
For all we know, he/she/zhe may currently identify as an oven mitt. I find any attempt to pigeonhole he/she or other to be presumptuous. And sexist, bigoted, racist, magist and... Ah never mind, I think they meant "she". |

Her appearing book is strong and super practical. She did it on Fool Us. Very gracious of her to make it available as part of lecture. It easily could have been a $20 download or $100 product.

For anyone that didn't get this originally (and there's a reason it has 73 reviews all of which are 5 stars), it's available for $20 for a little while longer (8.5 hours as I write this). Ignore the sold out sign. Or at least, that's never been an issue when I've gotten other lectures that are "sold out".
