So... I'm working on a routine that involves opening a box which holds a single wine glass. The box is shown empty and is held by the entertainer. The wine glass is vanished via techniques already developed and the box is then opened to show the re-appearance of the same wine glass. Curious if the minds of magic would be able to suggest a convincing technique to achieve this miracle? Thanks in advance

I would prefer starting with the glass in the box, removed by the spectator who hands it to you for the vanishing part (which you say you already have worked out). Then the spectator closes the box and holds it while you are busy making the glass vanish. When you are done, you ask the spectator to open the box again and there is the glass inside the box again. That would be my goal to work for.

Sorry that Magicjg has not responded to this topic for discussion any further. A thought came to mind that the only way a one man act, could accomplish this reappearance would be along the lines of Tommy Wonder's mechanical table, in his books for watch to next of boxes, and on his DVD set. This would only be a starting point, as the table would have to be redesigned for your purpose.
But first you have to come up with a way to prove that the glass is the same glass. Maybe have the spectator sign the glass, or place a special mark by the spectator on the glass that is vanished. |
