That’s why I watch the Propdog show every week.
Blatant honesty. Also Dave mentioned the Murphys sales that every shop does is mostly tat. |

I am curious why retailers sell products like this? Do they vet anything any more? I have purchased terrible products, PDFs, videos – and have had to have these conversations with them. It is one thing to get something and have it not be a good fit for you, at no fault to the product itself. Also, I understand the need to protect the secrets by sometimes being a bit coy in the ad copy and not showing everything in the trailer – I am savvy enough to usually know when and why that is happening. But putting out complete garbage, why? It doesn't serve the retailer or the customer well. Rant over. |

I agree. It makes zero sense that I can tell.

The reason is simple, it’s money of course. Murphy’s is a business and as such is profit driven and they need to keep new products constantly hitting the market.
For some of these effects they are probably able to work out a deal where there is very little financial risk for them if the product flops. Its a matter of throwing enough new items against the wall in the hopes that several will stick and a few will really stick. But I wouldn’t be surprised if even the ones that flop make a small profit. But of course the big sellers make up for the flops, kind of like the movie business perhaps. |

I got this for free as part of a large magic lot sale here on the Café. From Propdog, Wizard Product Review, and comments here at the Café, I knew this was a bad product. Having my hands on this, this is truly one of the worst products I have ever seen. This wouldn't fool a 4th grader. I concur on what the good folks at Propdog and WPR said. It really does seem that more time was spent on the trailer than the actual product. The fact that the Click trailer shows the photograph with white paper vs the gray within the photo when one gets his/her hands on it is beyond ridiculous. The Click gimmick screams the method for anyone that has gone through grade school. Also, when one resets, the method to do this will damage the gimmick over time due to wear and tear.
Due to the construction of Click, the method is obvious to non-magicians. The only thing that is deceptive about this release is the advertising. Even being free, this product is not even worth putting in one's junk drawer. Sometimes, I hold on to things that may have some use down the road. Other times, I sell it. With this, there is no redeeming value (even getting it for free). Therefore, it is now in a landfill. As been said before, stay away from any products where there is no live performances (this product had no live performances). That policy should apply to all products. Good magic to all. |
