Nice, Mike.

The execution is incredibly smooth. It looks effortless. And there are so many provers built into that routine I feel like it's even more fun for a magician to watch.

It's quite nice, aside from the couple of moments when the coins talk, and the fact I can hardly see any difference between the two coins. However, I gave up doing this years ago because, what it boils down to is "cleverly hiding a coin". Spectators are quite often dim-witted, but in the case of spellbound, the only possible solution is the right one. You have two coins and are hiding one cleverly. Just my opinion.

Dogmonkey you're correct on that one. But a nice clean up at the end would make all the difference. While I liked Mike's take on Spellbound, I wonder if a spectator would figure it out with the fist full of coins?

In magic, we are asked to suspend disbelief. People know the coins don't vanish and reappear, go through a table or change color. But they watch to be entertained. The purpose of this method is to showcase not only the spellbound sequence, but the change of the coin into eight smaller coins, from empty hands without the use of any gaffs. I doubt anyone can see this coming, or know what happens to the others. The two coins used are of contrasting color, easy to see in real life. Thanks for watching.

It certainly is a surprising way to go. But dog, you bring up some interesting points as to spellbound...I've addressed these points by trying to show that there is only one coin in some devilish ways, and tried not to over-do the usual back & forth of one coin to the other. It makes for a shorter take but is quite compact & stealth (clever, if you will) but by the open shows of my hands, that thought is dispelled, so to speak. *See just the first part here... www.youtube.com/watch?v=ibLDOJAQ3rI&feature=emb_logo

I don't think anyone thinks I am "cleverly hiding a coin" because I can actually show my hands empty, and not have to do any of those weird looking gnarled finger displays. I prefer these two tricks for that reason. |

Appreciate your kind comment above 007, glad you like my "Spe'L." Whenever I do it for people, I feel like I really learned something about good coin magic because every part of it is in there, and their bulging eyes and instant amazement confirm that again and again everytime.
I'm very happy that the effect has been so well received and remains popular. Maybe I did something right. Thanks again.
