An Israeli author speaking at the Davos forum stated that Governments will have the ability to hack the human being. If there is enough data you can reach a point where you know me better than I know myself." Although his thesis is frightening (I have no idea whether he is right or wrong), I think this would make a very interesting presentation for a mentalism effect or act. One could research the articles with really cites to the speech at Davos and then perform an effect proving it may be possible.

Whoa. Disturbing and interesting.
Please check regularly if you are becoming the type of magician Jerry Seinfeld jokes about. (This applies to mentalists as well.)

I have not looked into the OP’s reference cited (which is likely FMRI related?), this could also be done by “Big data”. Obviously, each decision we make about what to view and what we buy on the internet says something about who we are.
It could be interesting to do a series of real seeming effects/revelations and then reveal how they had already given away a frightening level of detail about themselves (somewhere online). I think it would entertaining, amazing and chilling. But, it would also magically turn us all into trolls and stalkers. On second thought... |

I'm taking a guess this was Yuval Noah Hurari. Author of Sapiens and Sapiens Deus. Fantastic books. I have a routine about free will that is inspired by these books.
