It is the fault of the performer not the creator.
Lynx white board used successfully in BGT in an amazing performance by a little child (Issy Simpson), no one suspected anything that time.
I wouldn’t go as far as to say nobody suspected anything considering a national newspaper exposed the effect including naming the Lynx blackboard and showing a picture of it’s working.
This isn’t directly the fault of the creator beyond the need of all creators to advertise their products it is an unfortunate side effect of the ease in which a performer can get exposure on TV in the current age.
I agree Mark lots of people suspected loads .
Particularly the judges who probably / definitely knew the protocol but they are all part of the charade . The same exactly as they were with magical bones , a great magician in his own right , and a street dancer primarily but it’s almost better to fake it with the judges than do an act that you would really do in the real world and still fool the hell out of them with misdirection . That’s TV magic for you , the internet and breaking the rules for just some very limited exposure Gaz 🙂

I agree that the creators should not put secrets in publicly available sites.
The mentioned article claimed that a fellow magician revealed the secrets of Issy, that means he is not a layman person!
What is funny about what is so called fellow magician that he came to false conclusion:

The tablet is connected wirelessly to the blackboard which is actually a non reflective LCD screen which reproduces what was written on the tablet in white making it look like chalk on a blackboard.

Nobody exposed anything. There's a brief glimpse of it in "open" mode which no single non-magician is likely to spot, remember, or care about.
The clip was actually shown on Celebrity Gogglebox and the eclectic mix of celebrities didn't spot it so I am quite sure the vasy majority of the lay audience didn't spot it either. It's an overreaction by a bunch of magi throwing their dummies out the pram.
Yep, I agree with Videoman, I consider myself pretty observant, and I did not spot it...On another note, I love "magi throwing their dummies out the pram", that made me laugh, never heard that expression, likely since I'm not British...anyhoo, I digress

I was the member who pointed it out and it was Julie who spotted it during the actual performance. Julie is a layman and whilst she has been exposed to some mentalism methods she hasn’t been exposed to many magic methods. Her mum also commented on it, although her comment was more along the lines of the number part was good but what was the point of pushing the card through the slit? On the following Monday on a video call with one of my layman friends he commented that he liked the routine but the pushing the card through the slot in the metal was both pointless and obvious so whilst there were no mentions in the heavily edited clips on celebrity goggle box it appears that many laymen did spot it.

All the best,

Good question.
His answer will determine whether I buy from him again.
The answer was given on the latest P3TV
Podcast
Damien said that Joao supplied him with both Metal Phone and Easel to use on BGT
That explains why when the mental phone was still on pre sale and it was the same week BGT was recorded
Anyway his
Return on BGT with yet a presentation that was almost self working
But most lay people have said went on far too long !
with an overkill at the end with The Easel
( hope that is not exposed on you tube like the last one)
