I got this and have had the opportunity to play with it. First reactions are the gimmick is a little thick which I am bummed about, but it is gold silver which does give you lots of different opportunities to perform with it since those are the most common keys. I would love to see this built into a black plastic top standard car key. One of the problems with it being double sided as well is it makes this a lot more angle sensitive. It has to be pretty much straight on for this, as the angles are worse than the traditional coin bite. The cut is also more dominant because there is no design to really hide the cut like there is on a quarter. All this aside, I think the visual is nice, and if you switch the key in and out and have a small audience this could really be a killer effect. The wife thought the visual was super cool, and so that's a win for me. I also enjoy how this is made out of real metal keys which is a plus. So a quick rundown of pros and cons:
Cons: Thick gimmick, angley, doesn't always sit flush when the gimmick goes back. Pros: High visual, can easily switch it in and out, double sided to work with most keys. Made out of metal, the price is good. All in all I think this is a good product, especially for the price, but I didn't realize how thick the gimmick would be, as I thought it would be 1 key with both colors like painted on one side, but it is 2 keys that make up the gimmick. With the price and instructional, I would give this product a 3.8/5. |

I agree with Cody above.
The cut is especially noticeable on the gold side on mine, the silver side less so. I think it would be wise to keep this key moving and not let them get a good look at it and switch it back out quickly. I may be in the minority and wasting a potentially great illusion, but I've always thought of the bite coin more as a quick cute moment of wonder more closely akin to a gag. I know David Blaine managed to find a few folks that freaked out over it but I've always performed it as a quickie to give a smile to someone. Unless I can be convinced here that I'm wrong I don't see myself borrowing a key for this. So I'd really prefer a thinner silver only key. But all in all, a good deal for the price. I'm happy with it overall. I think I'd score it a little lower than Cody, maybe 3/5. As an addendum...years ago I would occasionally do the bite coin coin to a cashier. I'd be all set in anticipation of receiving a quarter in change and remark about the new quarters being soft and do bite coin and that did often get stunned reactions. But alas, everything is paid electronically these days so I've long ago stopped carrying props like that around with me. |

10 minute video justifying the creation of the product so other magicians won’t beat him up too bad. Makes you feel bad for the creator. Too much of this petty bs in the community. ........and
If the key is abnormally thick and that is not mentioned then to hell with Geraint/ellusionist too. It’s ok to tell us the flaws so we can spend our money and time wisely. |

It needs to be a certain thickness, but I don't have issues performing it or it being too thick. Like coin bite, I don't do it 360 degrees surrounded. I just keep it to a tight 45 viewing angle. 1 to 5 people max - taking a step back if needed. |

Guess I am the one being petty. That wasn’t deserved Geraint. I am sorry.
