In answer to your question, my work comes from the best medium ever......recommendations/word of mouth (and a few business cards).
For years it was via entertainment agents. Oh for those happy days of posting off publicity 10x8's and date sheets. Have I ever used a website? Nope. I couldn't sink to the shallow depths of lying by describing myself as an 'Award-winning Magician'; coupled with fake testimonials from companies that I've never worked for; or newly married couples saying that I was the sole reason for their wedding being such a huge success. I'm fortunately now semi-retired; so only take in what I want; and most importantly, at the price I demand. I know this may seem like a parallel universe for some younger people - but for some of us fortunate to have been around upon this mortal coil for many years, we've already built a reputation and importantly, a raft of the more important contacts. Just as well as the very thought of using Facebook, Twitter, etc. truly makes my eyes glaze over.

I could, all day- but I wont here.
Hard to believe we've given the directors of of facebook and Instagram so much power over our lives. Not me. Good luck all. |

Instagram, facebook, etc...only has as much power over your lives as you give them.. You don't have to put your life story and your bank account information on there. People's info gets stolen all the time without the use of social media or the internet.
