For me I use the penguin as the markings are great and as said above you can get a brick for $60.00. The best deal around. I've owned about every marked deck out there. The worst for me was Boris Wild's deck. My favorites have been the SUM Deck, and The Code by Andy Nyman. Recently I bought Jermay's Marksman Deck. It's clever but you need good eyesight. Again you can't go wrong with Penguin's Marked Cards. Ed, [Eddini] |

The DMC’s are by far the most popular marked decks sold at my store, for whatever that’s worth.

Ease of reading I'd say the penguin marked deck and the DMC's.
The penguin marked decks are cheaper so you don't have to worry about messing the cards up in any way. The new DMC's come in mnemonica and have markings for that as well. DMC's have a unique marking system which makes them easier to read further away from than other marked cards. Both are nice. Imo |

Fascinating how much opinions can differ based on preference. Maybe we can offer a few reasons why we like particular versions. I think the principle behind the Boris Wild deck is very clever indeed - but the marks are too small for my feeble eyes. In fact most markings are too small for me - which is why I like the Penguin deck and the DMC. I don't find the DMC significantly more readable than the Penguins. So Penguin is my preference because the price tips the balance. |

Based on all the replies, DMC's are clear winners, but what about marksmen deck? How do they compare to DMC? Thanks!

You can see the markings on the pic here -
https://www.martinsmagic.com/allmagic/ca......-jermay/ They are very clear, maybe too obvious. They are not integrated into the pattern, the way they are on most decks. Also this is VERY expensive ($35) |

Here's the image showing the backs of the Marksman Deck very clearly:
Image detail: Marksman Deck card back Has anyone used this deck, and if so can you comment on whether this escaped the attention of spectators? It does seem to me that its usage is limited by how obvious the markings are. |

Thank you, one of my friend had the Marksman Deck and I examined it. I think its completely unusable for my purpose as the marks are extremely obvious. Even if you are not looking for them, they call out to you since they are not blended in the design.
Does anyone know where I can find the brooklyn v2 marked cards? It seems the marks on those are very well codes but can be read from the distance as well. Thanks! |

I haven't been able to find them in stock anywhere either. I emailed them in November (the email is listed on their website) to ask about a reprint, and the answer was that they will probably reprint at some point in the future - and to subscribe to their newsletter for an announcement. |

I think it depends on what you need to do. If you want to read the markings while the deck is ribbon-spread on the table, nothing beats the Boris Wild Markings. They are very fast to read.
If you have the deck in your hands, I like the Card-Shark marking, very sneaky yet good to read. And if your eyesight is not the best, The Dare Devil Deck is made for you. Yes the markings are very big, but if you don‘t put any heat on it, the spectators will never „catch“ you. |

As of the writing of this present post, not a few magic vendors have sold out of some or all of their stock of many versions of the DMC'S, so if you are as nearsighted as I am, you'll likely want to start searching for alternatives. One of these easy-to-read choices, IMHO, would be the Night Flight Marked Playing Cards by Steve Dela (V3 red elite edition). Another to consider might be the Daredevil Deck by Henry Evans, which is advertised as "a marked deck that you can read blindfolded, with markings 350% bigger than the Phoenix Marked Decks and 700% bigger than the Ultimate Marked Deck!" Neither of these can compete with the DMC's in terms of subtlety, however, with the Daredevil's marks being so blatantly revelatory as to be recommended only for those who are confident of their crowd control skills, to say the very least.

I only have the Penguin Marked Deck, but I will say it seems *very* easy to read. But they still look like typical bicycle cards. I highly recommend them!

Hence my previous emphasis on graphically larger marks more easily read by those with compromised vision. Perhaps my narrow interpretation of this subject is not shared by all, and that's okay, I guess. I just wish to clarify why I opted to rate graphically BIG marks above others that may be deemed preferable for other reasons.
