Zach Allen has been quite a busy fellow as of late. Seems he has spent quite a bit time in a creative frame of mind, and his latest work, titled simply and intiguingly, "Black 7",is a fine collection of seven effects, all with a "dark side" kind of flavor that really borders on being Bizzare Magick. In fact, I can honestly say that most of the items are indded just that.
This is stuff to not only amaze your audiences, but to take them to the "edge", and hopefully, if you perform them right, make the hair on the back of their neck stand up! Yes, I LIKE this material! You cann almost hear the theme from "The X Files" playing in the background as you read the descriptions of the offerings he has made. This stuff is BEYOND your normal, everyday, "magic trick" type fare. In some cases, and for the right people, in the right place at the right time, they just MAY walk away believing you are, well, how can I put this? Shall I say, "from somewhere else?" If you love the STRANGE, if you have an affinity for that which is BIZZARE, or CREEPY, then you owe it to your self to get this! The effects are: "Fly" (I like the title!) The spectators hand becomes the theatre of the bizzare when a small piece of paper, or whatever you wish, within reason, levitates on their OWN outstretched palm! The method, as far as I know, is pretty unique. I truly like this one. Cynosure: The magician lights a piece of paper on fire and blows it out. The spectator is instructed to just touch the paper's edge with their finger, and it magically bursts back into flames! How's that for a piece of strange? This comes close to REAL magic, and you'll laugh out loud when you read the method! Why didn't I think of that? It was right under our very noses all the while! Ethereal: A coin vanishes from the magicians hand and reapears in the spectator's hand, and the "spirits leave EVIDENCE of their work behind! This one kind of puts me to mind of the movie "Ghost Busters" and once again, this is an EXTREMELY powerful effect, and may well be the most powerful effect in the series. This may be where the hair standing up on the back of the spectator's neck that I mentioned earlier may very well begin. I get goose bumps just thinking about this one. Gotta love it! Steven King kinda stuff, knowwhutimean? Bic The Contortionist: Well Paul Harris had the right idea, with his latest effect, but Zach makes the task much easier with this modern, updated effect of a pen twisting in the magician's hand. That's right, Bic The Contortionist is an effect where a pen appears to TWIST in your hand. Simple, bold, and very easy to do, leaving it easy for you to PRESENT the effect. This one is indeed ALL in the presentation. IT all comes down to ACTING on your part. Zach admits that he at first found it hard to believe that folks would go for the bait on this one, but thay DO, and they actually believe you have the power to physically alter objects with the mere power of your mind. Great stuff here that you will carry around in your pocket, ready to go at a moments notice! You gotta get this! Time Travel: A very unique little gem here. the effect is simply this: A corn kernel POPS in the magician's hand! They even hear the pop! Simple to do, but it could stick in their minds for a long time! This sounds like something Paul Harris should have thought of! In fact, I don't see how he missed it! I'll be back with more effect descriptions shortly. I'm back. Sorry to post this in two posts, but my thirty minute time limit ran out, and a screen appeared that said something to the effect that I could not edit the message because my time had ran out. SO...let me finish. The last effect is this: Voodoo Vanish. When I read this, I knew the entire thing would be worth purchasing if JUST for this one effect. The effect is this: The magician makes a person dissapear and fade out of sight with an eerie glow! This can be done close up, surrounded, etc. (Ask Zach about this one, he will explain further.) This last effect is a little masterpiece of close up theatre that could cause your audience to possibly lose a little sleep at night! I won't say a lot about it, except this. Once you have prepared this one (It takes some work) you will surely present this more often than any other effect. It is SO magical, SO strange and inexplicable, that well..., go back and read the part about the hair standing up on the back of the neck. You will LOVE this! This is that Twilight Zoneish, X Files kind of material that just makes mouths drop. It's unbelievable! Cool stuff! Zach has done a great job with the descriptions, and the props are pretty common, except for ONE very important prop, which I have never seen, but Zach informs can be purchased on ebay. You'll have to check with him on that. No real hard sleights, as most of the material depends on your acting ability, and your presentational skills, and believe me, these effects deserve a good presentational angles to turn them into unexplained phenomenon. If you are a fan of this kind of weird, uncanny effects, then you need to get with Mr. Allen and purchase your copy. I think you'll find a lot of very usable material, and you be amazed at his thinking and creative abilities. So do your audiences a favor. Take them OUT of the mundane, and transport them into a world where anything is possible, especially the STRANGE and BIZARRE! Thanks Zach, for this wonderful offering. I'm looking forward to whatever you come up with in the future! People, once again, GET THIS! Daff

Daff,
Thanks for the review...in case anyone wants to read the official ad copy on my website, or even order this , you can find everything you need at http://zachallen.sleightgeek.com Thanks! Zach Yes, that would appear to be the case, wouldn't it? I guess my last update of my website didn't actually update it. I'm going to give it another shot now and see if I can fix it. Thanks for bringing that to my attention. Zach Could Kelvin Tsang please send me a PM or email me from an alternate email address? You placed an order for the Black 7 manuscript, and while I got your emails ok everytime I try to send one back to you it gets kicked back to me. I'll keep trying, but if you could at least PM me or email me from another account, that would be great. Thanks. Zach PS. The website is updated now with the correct information.

I received Black 7 yesterday.
Zach Allen put together a great group of effects. His approach is very creative. It is inventive in a way that remember me some old conjuring treatises. I specially like Cynosure, wich is the kind of effect that coul remain burned on your volunteers memory for ever. Simple and very visual, extremely powerful. Ethereal is also an amazing way to take a coin vanish to a next level, specially suitable IMO, for those who like storytelling. Then I like a lot Bic the Contortionist, and Time Travel, wich is a beautiful miracle. All effects need some preparation, but all of this is very simple, extremely cheap and really powerful once you are ready to go. All the effects are simple, to the point. Easy to follow and to remember for the adience. that's something that I really appreciate. Besides, the price is a joke, considering that just one of those effects could cost a lot more than the price of the entire e-book. Thanks Zach for share this! |

Thanks, Enrique.
I'm glad to see that people are showing this much interest in it. Thanks for the support, everyone. Zach I hate to use the Café as a way of reaching people who have purchased my product, but as every email I seem to send this person doesn't reach him, I must do this again. Would Luc Van Krieken please send me a PM regarding the ebooks he purchased, or at least send me an email from another email address? I cannot seem to reach him at the email address provided, which is noisulli@wanadoo.nl. Please contact me as soon as possible, and we'll try to get this issue resolved. Thanks, Zach Forgot to mention this on my last post... From this Sunday until next Sunday (one week), anyone who orders either the Ignis Fatuus ebook or the Evolution ebook will receive a copy of Black 7 free of charge. Also, Black 13 is in the works (with a nod to Stephen King)... Zach

Quick update...just wanted to say thanks to all of you who have supported this e-book. It has sold more copies than the Ignis Fatuus release, which was a fairly substanstial number, at least in my eyes.
I mentioned something about Black 13 the last time I posted above. However, I've decided that Black 13 will be a print only edition, containing the routines from Black 7 along with 6 others. I am working on a new ebook, which will contain ideas and other miscellaneous things. They will not be full routines (with the exception of one or two things). Included will be an essay detailing my own personal creative process, which will hopefully open the way for some of you to create your own magic. Again, I'll do a beta-testing feature - look soon for more details. Zach

Thanks, Zach

I have a quick question about Voodoo Vanish. Rather than fully explain my quandry and possibly tip the method, perhaps someone who has prepared this effect according to the instructions could pm me?
I'm unsure about the necessity for a certain part of the preparation since it is never 'exposed' during the routine. Cheers! Brandon |

Didn't he sort of end his magic career? I think a lot of people were trying to contact him at the end. Correct me if I'm wrong.

He started quite an issue with not delivering anything to people that paid money. Whether he ended up making good or not, I have no idea.
