I'm looking for someone who has this issue: Magic - Volume 9, Number 6 - February 2000
In Jon Racherbaumer Inside out column there's an item called Sweating Bullets by Lennart Green, p79 Could someone be so kind as to tell me what the effect is and possible any credits mentioned I'm doing some research. Thanks in advance. Craig

From Magic Magazine...
16 "random" cards are placed in a 4x4 grid and some are turned face up. Spectator makes choices that have the cards rolled onto each other in a specified way that leads to the cards being assembled into one pile. The cards are spread and all are face down except the 4 aces which are face up. Credited: Martin Garner, Paradox Papers, Pallbearers July 1971 and Martin Gardner Presents. Quite a number of people have used this principle in different ways. Thanks, that's a big help. Craig

Just a note that Green did not make any claim on it and showed it to Racherbaumer as a "late night puzzler."

Apparently concept goes back to 1926 and a fellow named Henry Dudeney and a puzzle called Folding Postage Stamps. Many have played with the concept since. Some involving cards and some not. The most well known might be Nick Trost's Quadraplex, a marketed item.
