Dear All,
I want to share with you a little coin routine which I put together: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VYSAbeVjSmw Sometimes I think it is practical the other day I don't think so. I'm curious about your opinion. I regret the sloppy performance, I was not in the best mood for performing magic. But on the other hand I think still it is worth sharing with you. My spirit feels more magical now:-) Best regards Patrick |

Not bad. I would only suggest to slow down a bit so that each piece of amazement has a chance to be better appreciated. Then, maybe streamline it some to weed out any over repetition of moves. But all in all, you have a bit there to play around with and sharpen into a nice routine.

Hey Patrick, You have some GOLD IN THIS ROUTINE. I would just suggest for you to show it to people. Especially kids, because they say what they are thinking.
And follow some of their cues. If you do this, your routines almost improve themselves. hehe. You have an incredible piece of mind blowing magic in the making!!! Best wishes. |

Here is a quote from my book, Rubinstein Coin Magic, that I hope will help.
"Keep your movements smooth and slow, and the magic will always flow. But if you hesitate while moving fast, the illusion of magic just won't last."

Well, there are several poems, many quotes, and even a rap song in the book that closed my Magic Castle Act. And, the book even contains some coin magic too - over 50 moves, 89 of my own routines for impromptu, stand up, walk around, formal table, new plots, new methods, 22 additional contributions from some of the top coin guys in the world, and more. But buy it just for the rap song...it's worth the price of the book

Patrick, I really enjoyed that! And really good advice from everyone. I’ve also benefited from posting some of my own works in progress and seeking feedback on how the routines and presentations could be improved. I’m often surprised that what I think looks great in the mirror doesn’t fly when I see it recorded. And after I’ve recorded a work in progress I’ll revisit it a week or two later, sometimes many months later, and see that some moves I thought looked good at the time...could definitely be improved or completely reworked!
So I think it’s a great thing that you are recording your routines and ideas. As you re-watch your own performance, look for those moments that might look a bit fishy or not quite natural. As I work on each phase I find it really helpful to do each action without any SOH..what are my hands doing...what is the placing hand doing, what is the receiving hand doing, what does the placing hand do after it’s finishing placing a coin? Then I try and mimic what appears to be natural with the SOH in play. I know easier said then done! But a really rewarding part of the process of creating a routine! I hope you keep refining this one because I did enjoy your performance and some of the coin appearances and vanishes caught me by surprise! Yes I had to re-watch your performance🙂 You’ve also got a nice and likable style. John |

Hi Patrick. I also enjoyed watching this. Well done and thank you for sharing. The really great thing is that it gives everyone a chance to benefit from the subsequent golden snippets of advice from the experienced guys. The above comments are enlightening and really encouraging, and I think this is what makes MC, and the coin forums in particular, such great places to share and learn.

Hi Patrick - firstly, well done for having the courage to post one of your routines here. It's certainly a nervy thing to do, but also a cool thing too as you can then get lots of valuable feedback from top coin guys like MB and of course, Dr Rubinstein.
Most of the feedback here relates to your speed of delivery, so I guess that's the primary thing to focus on. You clearly have a nice routine there with some slick moves - well done buddy.. I look forward to seeing the next video of this routine. Good luck
