I am not a huge fan of card tricks. Most take too long and are often more about showing off one's dexterity then magic. A card trick needs to be fast and powerful for me to even think of using it. I also don't want to practice days or more to perfect it.
Virtual Rising by Adrian Lacroix fits all these needs. It is the best Zoom card trick I have ever seen because the card literally rises from the spectator's deck! No long preamble the magic is right upfront. It is NOT a knuckle buster and most can put it in their shows immediatly. Stop practicing your faro shuffle and look at this! I know you card guys might get mad at my opinion, but still look at Virtual Rising by Adrian Lacroix (Penguin Instant Download) if nothing else it will give you a good reveal. During the last months Adrian Lacroix has been creating cutting-edge magic for online platforms. Magicians like David Copperfield and Penn and Teller called Adrian to watch him perform those tricks. Now he is releasing something that no one thought it was even possible: a Virtual Rising Card that happens in the spectators hand. You will learn an underground principle that was hidden in full view for many years that will allow you to perform this miracle over a video call or in a live in person performance. He will cover every detail in this 20 min download. https://www.penguinmagic.com/p/14222 |

I've only seen the trailer, but this looks quite clever. I can't believe this principle has been there the whole time!

Why am I always pessimistic about claims like this?
I know why- because real magic doesn't exist! So your spec is going to take the deck that grandpa hasn't touched for 40 years out of the drawer and a card will rise out of the box? Show me the money!

I made no comments here for over a half year.
Now that I'm up to 888 comments, I think I'll stay quiet for another 6 months. Unless Pete Townshend or Eric Clapton drops dead.

This is brilliant. Haven’t played with it yet but the concept is sound. So cool to have a “thought of card” visibly rise from their point of view. Even the alternative out stuns. Well worth the purchase and refreshing sense a lot of virtual mentalism is predictions.

Does the card rise from inside the deck? If so, that will certainly be of interest. Hopefully it's not just the ancient technique to make the first card come out as that is totally unreliable.

My live show just turned virtual. Now have to learn new stuff to fit into my presentation.
