Is anybody out there performing a Rubik's Revenge by Mark Parker? I am interested in crowd response and whether you built it or bought it. If bought, from where? If built, please PM me.

4-effect.com is Mark's website. The illusion is in his latest book. As far as I know, there is not a working prototype yet made or anyone performing it or anybody authorized to market it. However, I hope I'm wrong and there are people out there that have at least made one successfully. I am looking to have one built in the near future and I want to gather all of the info I can. I don't want to be the one to make all of the mistakes first.

I've heard that Mark Kalin & Jinger are or were performing this. I haven't been able to verify it, but it could be a start...

Josh,
You should definetely contact Chris Murphy of Oz Illusions, he's a really great guy and builds top quality illusions. Take a look at his website, his email is listed there: http://www.ozillusions.com Mark's email is listed at http://www.4-effect.com . I'm sure you know that his book hasn't been out all that long, so maybe we'll see a few 'Rubik's Revenges' in the near future. Both Chris and Mark are great guys and I'm sure they will be able to help you. Good luck! Mike

I am not sure but I saw a video of an illusion where a lady stands behind a board which is like a puzzle from the front and there are some blank spots where parts of her body show from. You get the concept from there on: The hands legs and the head are moved to various locations like a Rubber lady. The puzzle in the front is mixed and then restored along with the girl. Is this Rubik's revenge? Also I don't know where I saw this video.

Rubiks Revenge is a box illusion.
A multi-coloured, multicubed box stands atop a small table. An assistant steps into the box and one hand and one foot ( genuine - absolutely no fakes) are permanently on view. In total four blades are placed into the box - first applause cue ( if the effect ended here it would be great!) Two of the cubes are split away from the other cubes and placed one either side of the table - Ýf the effect ended here it would be a miracle! Finally more cubes are split apart and the whole table is split open leaving all eight cubes separate, the foot and hand in view and the audience absolutely gobsmacked into stunned silence! This will be the next illusion to replace the Origami Box... The only picture of this available on the web does not explain much to the look of the prop. On Mark parkers website take a look under "The Book" and Rubiks Revenge is the top right hand picture out of the small illustrations. This is only a very small part of the whole prop. |

Dear All,
Thanks for interest in Rubiks revenge from my book 4e Illusion design. I would be happy to discuss the illusion details further by email. please contact me at markparker1@mac.com. You may all be interested to know that I have placed some brand new illusions with Bill Smith's Magic ventures and Chris Murphy's Oz Illusions. 180 which is a very exciting cutting..spiking..vanish. Vivisection which is my update of the Thurston illusion..but it uses only one girl inside a very modern circular prop. Strong Box which leads you down an impossible path to finally vanish a girl in seemingly impossible conditions. All details again can be discussed over email contact. best regards Mark Parker - 4effect
