I wish I new some mobile phone effects.
At the restaurant there is always a table with some one on the phone. I did one improvised, like this. Simple card trick.

I asked the girl who was on the phone,"Who are you talking with?" She said a girl friend. I said "Ask here to name any card?"
She did, I opened the deck of cards and showed her I had one card in the deck upside down with a corner piece missing. The only card in the deck that was useless.

They loved it. I didn't care much for it. I only wished I had my NW with me . Well I don't really use one all the time. Mine is one with a grease pencil on it.

I can't answer that, because I've never seen one and don't own one. Well, I take that back...I do own a John Cornelius cell phone trick, that I bought used, but it turned out to be a piece of crap and wouldn't be able to fool a turkey because it is just too cheap to sound good. I understand he did have a better model out, that sold for over $300, but I contacted him about that one and he told me it was no longer availabe. <sigh>

I hope this topic will produce some good mobile phone effects.

I love and try to perform it as often is possible...a version of the routine call
" the uninvited " by the late Al Mann...

I will not describe the effect here...but if you search well you can find it in one of the Mann manuscripts...

The name of the manuscripts is
( I think ) " classifieds " or
" of words and wizards " I don't remember...

But it's a killer...stand-up routine that you can adapt to cell phones

good hunting !!!

Well, I posted not long ago a pretty long list of phone effects here in the cafe.
Look under my name lior.
I don't use any of the established tricks as i don't find them that convincing.
If you know that cell phone scene from the Matrix you will know what I aiming for.
Since I'm only using my own routines I can't realy talk much about it, but I can tell you from my personal experience that there is alot of untapped potential in this erea.
If only you are willing to take the time and effort and try to think out of the card box.

PS:the Al Mann routine "The Uninvited"
may be found in his booklet "Of Words and Wizards".
And that's the only thing i know about it.

It is an original effect and diffrenet
from every thing else.
I am not awere of someone else doing it (yet)
I did a version of it last year in front of the PEA members in New Orleans.

maybe I will sell the rights to DC

Here's a good one for me!
Check a description called "magicall" in the book "pure effect". It's a really good idea, so please don't miss it if you have the book!!

I used to do an effect where you get someone to call a friend and get them to name a card..I produced a piece of folded paper or a card in an envelope that matched the other person on the phone...I "sent" the card to them on the phone they sent a two digit number to me... I wrote the number on the reverse of the envelop before revealing the card they both matched..

NW and pocket index

I never sold anything before but...
the mobile opener (can be in any part of the show)
This is a good opener for any stand up show
or a mind reading act and can be done as a close up effect for from 5 to 5000 people.
Everyone is doing something. It is clever,
funny,and amazing.
This is different from anything else that you've seen.

You can also do it in business meetings
or trade shows and deliver a marketing message. It has some more variations.

I am doing it in every show that I do.
(I am full time pro.)

You can spend your money elsewhere
(buy the latest 4 ace combo)

Only 100 people will get the rights to do it

Send me a 3x5 index card with your name and $150 and you'll get a home made video with all the explanations, all the gags and funny lines. How to tie it into any script
and some bonus ideas.
You'll also get your 3x5 index card.

Thanks Paul
It is a great trick. And Ican even say
the best card trick for a cell phone.

What I offer for sale is something else.
It is not a card trick. It is the opener of my show.It is an original idea that no one else is doing. And I think it is clever
LOL

It is not the one you also did in Washington is it? If it is, it is worth double the price just for the "lines" and "business" in the routine, provided that the phone you borrow has international call capability. (an inside joke)
If it is, performers would do well to aquire the rights to this to perform. Anything Lior does is extremely well thought out and suitable for high end audiences.

Lior, you should be at around 50 posts by now Smile

Mobile phones: In my book, Key Erect, there is a bit with knowing someones phone number. It was originaly posted in Magick by Brother Shadow. I change the wording and working a little. It is sort of a Gag originally but if you add the two bits of psychology offered in Key Erect it really looks to the audience that you know the lady's phone number in advance.

I mention this because somewhere else on the magic Cafe someone mentioned that a street performer used this bit when a spectators cell phone when off in the audience. Anywone know who this street performer is? Please PM me as I think this is a wonderful adaptation of this effect.

Sorry, can't give the method here as this post will be moved if I do and Lior would not be able to read it Smile Smile Smile
