I have just received my set of ickel pickel cups ( I thought I had ordered the mini set but ordered the normal set by mistake) I really like them but the balls that came with them are really bad, just big balls of fluff. I have tried other balls but all seem to big ( make the cups rock ) If any one has these cups could you you tell me what balls you use and the size. Links to order would help.
Thanks for your time.

How about using crumpled-up dollar bills? You could borrow 3 and do a neat routine...maybe even a sponge ball type follow up, a bill switch etc.

Maybe use one dollar bills, and for the final ending when you Finnish unfold the dollar bills and they are $100's or $5's.
Best, Brad

I use the 1" Mike Rogers baseballs. These are really cool, check them out on Michael Ammar's website, http://www.ammarmagic.com I think you will be pleased with them. Hope this helps out. Bill |

I also use the baseballs-but have used crumpled up bills and one or twice crumbled aluminum foil. by the way, with a magnetic earring from Claire's and a chop cup-that bill becomes a chop ball. Frank-what is the weight of your felt balls?

The weight of the felt balls is comparable to the crocheted balls. They are not fluffy or light weight at all. Even the smallest ones.
Pete, I just made 3 sets of 1/2" balls for Bill Palmer. That is the smallest I've made to date. Usually I use a core that is solid and heavy so the balls have some wieght. Since it's felt, any size is really doable. Frank

Describe them to me, giving measurements of mouth diameter, size of depression in the bottom and the height from the table to the top of the shoulder bead. Then I can tell you which size of balls will work with them. I have several different sets of their cups, so there won't be any conjecture.

Thanks for all the ideas.
Mr. Palmer, the cups I have seem to be quite rounded and mesure as such. Top 47mm across, mouth 70mm across, hight 70mm, mouth to bead 22mm, bead to top 48mm, dip in top seems to be around 2mm. So it seems a 22mm ball will work ? I was thinking of trying these http://www.stevensmagic.com/shopping/shopexd.asp?id=3415 or the felt balls as mentioned by Mr. Starsini.I will keep looking in the toy and fabric shops. thanks again for all your help..

Those balls might work with them. I think I know the cups you have. Are they brass, by any chance?
Actually, if you don't have a chop cup in with the set, the mouth to bead height is approximately the maximum size ball you can work with. A 3/4 inch ball is about 20 mm. so it should work without difficulty. Some 3/4 inch balls are a little smaller than other 3/4 inch balls. I don't know who does the actual measuring on these things!

Thank you Mr. Palmer. I can only wish they were brass
or heavy copper, but, for the price I'm very happy with heavy weight aluminum. By the way, do you or any one e know if ickel pickel has a web site ( I have looked around but no luck ) Thank you all for your time.

No, Ickle Pickle doesn't have a regular web site that I can find.
But I'm glad to help. I would go with a 3/4 inch ball. I think you will be happy with that.
